Reynolds Custom Wood

Like I405 on a Friday isn't already slow enough.

Last week when we were in Walla Walla. I stopped at Jenson Hardwoods. Great selection of slaps and hardwood and some turning blanks.
I was able to get 5 blanks from a piece of maple from there and 2 other blank for under $100

Cherry burl hollow form finished with Odies oil. This piece looks great from any angle

I can see this being passed around the Thanksgiving dinner table with some warm rolls in it.

Well s**t, that wasn't supposed to happen. And it was such a pretty piece of wood.

Finished. Love the way it turned out.

The idea behind this is to hopefully stop any future cracking.

I believe this to be poplar. I should of thrown this in the scrap pile as soon as it started cracking. There's something about spalting that had me gluing up the cracks, now running from one end to the other, by the time I was done on the inside. Dyed the outside and kept it natural on the inside to show case that spalting near the rim.
