This season, Ermine sponsored three cats for adoption at Clear Creek Cat Rescue. We're happy to report that Glow, Grumpy Spice, and Mango have all found homes and have moved in with their new families.
Our primary nonprofit partner has long been Food Bank of Alaska. However, there are many pressing needs in Anchorage, for creatures both big and small. We're not just trying to make the best Nordic skates on the market today, we're trying to make Alaska a better place to work and live for everyone. We greatly appreciate your support during the 2025/26 season, which has made nonprofit partnerships like these possible.

“This is good news on its own, but the bigger picture might be just as exciting: Anchorage is emerging as an internationally known hotspot for wild ice skating and a bucket list destination for adventurous skaters. What Moab is for mountain bike trails, and Oahu is for waves, Anchorage is becoming for wild ice. Wild ice skating is making increasingly meaningful contributions to our outdoor culture, public health and economy, and it is poised to play a supporting but significant role in our city’s future.”
Opinion: Anchorage is becoming an international destination for wild ice skating
A perfect mix of climate, access and community is turning Anchorage into a bucket-list stop for skaters worldwide.

This season we launched Kit, the industry’s first Nordic skate for kids. Kit is a 37cm Nordic skate optimized for smaller adventurers on Jr. NNN bindings. It features four binding mounting positions, rounded corners for safer handling and falls, and three poppy polymer-ceramic color options (this color, electric moss, also fluoresces under a blacklight!).
Kit marks a milestone both for the Nordic skate industry and for Ermine, and it was a big party of our goal this season to bring new and exciting products to market.

🤩
When I got out of the Sierra backcountry a couple weeks ago an EPIC skating overnight in itself I had a message from waiting in my inbox (already one day old!) saying that a dream skating location was popping off. In the 18years I’ve been chasing wild ice I’ve never had the chance to skate amongst icebergs. It’s been a dream of mine for several years. I’ve also come to know, when friends who’ve skated in some pretty epic places call you up and say you “gotta get here!” …I try my hardest to drop it all and go. It’s never let me down. And in the end that’s life, you zoom-in on your dreams and you chase after them. It’s what makes life worth living. ❤️

We're thrilled to announce that Ermine is now carrying the Pikmakarn Turbo ice pole! Sweden's hottest wild ice tool is now available in Alaska (and the rest of the US, too).
This innovative ice pole has two handles on each pole. An upper handle is perfectly positioned for double-poling, and true ice pole handle with a wide base for testing wild ice is located lower on the pole.
Beyond its unique double-handle design, this ice pole is completely tricked out. Features include a neon yellow powder coat for visibility, a very bright and durable reflector band, a compass integrated into one of the upper handles, two warm foam grips on each pole, and a beautifully-machined bullet-style Swedish stainless steel tip.
Even the tip protectors deserve mention. The protectors have a loop that allows the poles to be securely fastened together, and have studded tips that provide good traction even when the integrated ice pole tips are covered.
Available now exclusively at the Ermine Skate website!
