Joy in Family Medicine Coaching

I'm a family physician with over 20 years of experience, 16 years in academics. They've worked too hard to settle. Coaching is an evidence-based powerful tool.

Academic Physician Coach partners with FM Residencies to reconnect family medicine residents & attendings with joy in the job - partnering to build and sustain joy-filled careers from the ground up. I'm an ICF PCC accredited professional coach that works with family medicine residency programs and individual residents, faculty, and early career family physicians. I remain active as on-call faculty

Updated to add a clue: The first letter is a W. 🤯

Friday Diversion Post: Thankfully, ChatGPT can read doctor handwriting better than me. Want to guess the circled word from my OWN notes?

Friday Diversion Post... Sisters. We planned this. Which is concerning.
(They’re going to kill me, but it’s worth it for your entertainment. You’re welcome.)

It's official.
I'm now Advanced Certified in Team Coaching (ACTC) through the International Coaching Federation.

Grateful to my all my longitudinal teammates in training, including Woodrie Burich & Shobna Kannusamy, PCC, ACTC, for being the kind of fellow coaches who invest in each others' learning and growth.

Most people assume coaching a team means coaching the individuals in it.

But really, the team itself is the client. The relationships, the patterns, the dynamics that only exist when those who are working toward a common purpose convene.

That's where the work lies. It's more challenging than individual coaching, a bit messier, and honestly very interesting.

Thoughtful organizations understand that their teams need development as a system, not just as a collection of people. That’s when the greatest impact can take place.

Grateful to bring this skill set into family medicine GME, where strong teams matter.
