The Great Plains Gravel Route: 6 states • 3500 miles • 35 days
This route was published last year by , but this year is the first time folks are getting out and riding the route in it's entirety. The Great Plains Gravel Route was curated to showcase the hidden beauty of the Great Plains, from the from the Llano Estacado region of Texas to the rolling Flint Hills of Kansas, and from Nebraska’s prairies to the iconic Black Hills and Badlands of the Dakotas (read more about it here: https://bikepackingroots.org/project/great-plains-gravel-route/).
We hooked up two riders on a mission to do the full route from south to north, Robb Finegan (Lincoln, Nebraska) and Hannah Glatter (Lawrence, Kansas) with bags that would make their journey as comfortable and efficient as possible. They’ll be joined along the way by .alexander.bio, bringing a biologist’s perspective to the Plains (along with some great storytelling), and , documenting the journey as it unfolds.
They started their ride on May 12th and are aiming to cross the finish line in 35 days — 15 days in and the team is just about to cross into Kansas!

One of our favorite days of the year is when Anchorage GRIT stops in for a visit to Revelate HQ. 21 riders rolled into the shop for an evening; they learned how bikepacking bags are made (and tried their hand at it!), heat pressed their own shirts, and got geared up for their 60+ mile bikepacking adventure ahead!
Anchorage GRIT — a program from Bike Anchorage — helps middle school girls, trans, and non-binary youth build confidence, independence, and community through bikes, adventure, and transportation.
We’re proud to support a program that’s helping create the next generation of riders, adventurers, and route-finders 💪.

We had two Revelate ambassadors finish Adventure 560 this past weekend! Lael Wilcox rode in at 4th place in the women's race (this field was extremely competitive - the top four women all rode faster than last year’s winner!) and Bond Almand crossed the finish line in 15th in the men's race — congrats to you both on big efforts and big miles!
Both Lael and Bond have shared their post-race thoughts on their instagram profiles; definitely worth a read and a like. The Traka is such a cool race that we love to follow; can't wait to see who lines up at the start next year!
