Levi Copass Racing

The season didn’t end the way we would have wanted but what a great year is was! We did not race the last points race due to a problem with our engine but we feel good at the progress we made this year.
Levi won 7 races and is the 2022 Non-Wing US 24 Speedway Track Champion 🏆.
We both learned alot this year and will need all that knowledge and some next year when we move up a class and race against drivers between 13 - 35 yrs. We are excited and ready for the challenge.
Our last race in the Restricted class will be at the Tulsa Shootout in late December.

We had a nice smooth night winning our 7th race overall and locking up the Non-wing Track Championship!!🏆🏁.

After a race long battle with Kolton Spencer Racing Levi brought home win #6🏁 last night at US 24 Speedway!
Levi started the feature in 3rd and spent the majority of the first half of the race trying to run down Kolton’s fast #64 car. After a few attempts to pass going into turn 1 Levi changed his line and was able to use lapped traffic to his advantage and made the pass for the lead and win.

We didn’t get the result we were hoping for Saturday night to welcome our newest sponsor Commercial Trade Source, Inc.. to our team.
The night started off good with Levi winning his heat race from the 4th starting position. He started 4th in the feature and was up to 2nd battling for the lead when the LR tire went flat due to the 2-piece wheel separating. A costly mistake by the wrench 😐.

Our starter button did not work as we were about to warm up the engine for qualifying 😬 thanks to Mackenzie Hiestons’ family for letting us use their 4 wheeler to push-start our car, and a little grace from the track, Levi made it on track just in the nick of time and qualified 3rd. We finished 2nd in our heat race and drew the pole on the redraw.
Levi went on to lead every lap of the feature and posted the fastest lap of the race. 🏁

We did it!
Levi got his first win in the Sprint Car last night at US 24 Speedway broadcast by dirt2media.com.
Levi set fast time in qualifying which put him starting 4th in his heat race. He won his heat race giving him his first heat race win in micro sprints. Then he drew the pole in the re-draw and went wire to wire leading every lap in the feature!🏁

We raced for a $1000 to win last night at US 24 Speedway in the Febe Wolf Racing - FWR give back race. It was fun night with a solid finish.
Levi was 3rd fastest in qualifying, he started 3rd and finished 3rd in his heat race which put him starting 8 for the feature. After 25 laps of hard, clean racing, one battle after another, Levi brought it home in 4th. Thanks to Febe for putting on a special night for the Restricted class and all the extra cash awards and gifts! Oh yeah, it was pretty cool getting introduced to the crowd too😃.

We wrapped up our first season in Micro Sprints last Saturday night at US 24 Speedway with a 7th place finish. The track slicked off in the feature and I missed the set-up. Levi learned a lesson in changing his racing line and was running his fastest times by the end of the race.
This year was all about having fun and learning as much as possible and we did a lot of both. We feel good about our progress this year and are excited about our second season in the Restricted class next year.

It was great to be back in the Micro Sprint last night at Circus City Speedway.
Between rain-outs, our family vacation and running an 8hr endurance race last weekend in WI. it had been a month since we had raced the dirt car.

We got our first podium finish last night with a 3rd place finish!
Congratulations to Jet Neal for his win and taking home the $400 prize and to Parker Bupp for his 2nd place. It was a lot of fun😊.

We raced at US 24 Speedway last night. Levi ran 2 features last night due to running a make up feature for last month’s rain out and finished 8th out of the 16 car field in the make up race. In the second feature he brought home his first top 5 with a fifth place finish 👍🏻. Most importantly he ran all of the possible 62 laps of competition as seat time is what he needs most. We will take next week off and will run again on 6/19.

Levi ran his first micro sprint heat race last night at US 24 Speedway and all went as planned other than the rain winning the feature😕. He had a nice smooth night and got valuable seat time, too bad we didn’t get to run the feature. Oh well we will try it again at our next race on 5/22.

Though we missed racing this weekend in Ocala FL. with all our Karting friends we are plugging away getting ready our Micro Sprint ready for the upcoming season. Just got the car back from Jeremy Warren’s fab shop. Got the seat mounted with some trick adjustable mounts and power steering installed. Now time to strip it down and take it to get powder coated. Then it will be time to put it back together and fire off our new power plant. Starting to get excited.

After racing Karts for the last 5 years LCR is excited to announce that Levi will be moving into a Micro Sprint in 2021. As a family we feel the time is right to take on another challenge in a bigger car with suspension running ovals on dirt. This will be all new to us but we are excited about the future. Let’s go Racing!

Levi raced a national event with United States Pro Kart Seriesthis weekend at one of our most favorite places Road America. It was a super competitive field with racers from across the US and the top 20 karts separated by less than 8 tenths of a second. In the final on Saturday Levi was up to 10th after a great start but I missed the set-up a we did not have the speed we did in the pre-final and he slipped back to 14th at the finish. Sunday’s final Levi drove up from an 18th starting spot to a 13th place finish with some intense battles throughout the race. Levi really drove hard and smart all weekend.
It was a great time with many of our racing friends and some great weather at an awesome place. Not long after we began our drive back home Levi turned to me and said “I love you Dad, I had a lot of fun this weekend”. Pretty much sums it up😊it’s the main reason we do it.

We raced rounds 1 - 3 of the SuperKarts! USA pro tour this weekend at New Castle Motorsports Park with 41 of the best 10 - 12 year olds in the country and beyond. We knew it would be a big challenge and it certainly proved to be. Though we struggled to find the pace to run up front Levi continued to find more speed each time out with not much racing luck going our way.
Race 1 on Friday Levi qualified 35th, race up to 21st in the pre-final and finished 20th in the final.
Race 2 Saturday Levi qualifying 27th but was caught up in a wreck in turn 1 at the start and finished 40th. Starting 40 in the final Levi passed 16 Kart’s to finish 24th.
Race 3 Sunday started much better with a qualifying effort of 19th but once again trouble at the start when he got ran over from behind, went off track and finished 35th. In the final he made up 9 positions and finished 26th.
We are very appreciative of the welcome and support that we received from our new team at Team FMS.

Raced this weekend at beautiful (but hot) Road America with Route66 Kart Racing. Saturday Levi qualified 6th and raced up to a 2nd place finish in the final. On Sunday he qualified 4th and in the final he made a daring pass for 3rd on the outside going into 1st turn chicane and it did not work out the way he had planned and he finished 6th. No guts no glory😉. We will be back at it in 2 weeks with United States Pro Kart Series at NCMP.

Guess we should have brats on the grill🤣

We raced a doubleheader with KRA series this weekend at New Castle with a lot of rain both Saturday and Sunday. Both days we qualified in the rain with Levi winning the pole both days! The final on Saturday was on a drying track but still too wet for slicks. Levi finished 2nd after a race long battle with winner Aryton Grim. The track was dry for the final on Sunday but we developed an issue with the engine at low RPM”s as it would hardly run and would not idle. After changing plugs, carburetor, coil and then the engine it still would not run clean on the bottom. Levi fell back at the start and drove back to the lead but it was short lived as Aryton and winner Caleb Tarter passed him the next lap and Levi finished 3rd. I’m going to put fresh fuel in the kart this evening as we may have gotten water the the fuel tank and if that doesn’t fix it I’m going to change the electrical wiring harness. It has to be one of those 2 things. I’ve eliminated everything else 🤔. We are looking forward to going to one of our favorite tracks this weekend, Road America in Elkhart Lake WI. with the Route66 Kart Racing series.
