I am incredibly proud to introduce Kayla Younkin as an Associate Voice Teacher at my studio!
Kayla and I graduated from the same university (Go, EMU! 💚) and she has been teaching at my studio since early 2024. In addition to being a gifted singer and passionate teacher, Kayla possesses a strong understanding of music theory and musicianship, which helps her students become more knowledgeable and proficient singers. Her warm and welcoming energy makes her great at working with beginners. One of the best parts of having Kayla on the team is that we can reach more students together, which has been very rewarding for both of us and has helped grow the studio to something of my dreams. We are so lucky to have her!
Here’s a bit more about Kayla: She earned her Bachelor of Arts from Eastern Michigan University, majoring in Music and minoring in Theatre Arts. In 2023, she began the Voice Teacher Mentorship Program with Stephanie Walters to enhance her knowledge of voice science. Her passion for voice and teaching was so evident that Stephanie invited her to start teaching at the studio in early 2024. Kayla has been singing and performing all over Southeast Michigan for over 15 years and has truly found her home in the performing arts. Whether on stage, playing the piano, music directing, or teaching, she continually seeks new skills and knowledge within her craft. No two voices are the same, and that’s what makes voice lessons so exciting! Kayla looks forward to creating a safe, collaborative, and creative space where everyone is welcome to explore the magic of their voice.
If you are interested in lessons with Kayla or me, please reach out!
Keep singing,
Stephanie Walters 🩷

This may be old news to some of you, but I wanted to share an important update: my last name has changed!
I married the love of my life, Brenden Walters, in October 2023 in Northern Michigan. I have officially changed my name from Stephanie VanAlstine to Stephanie Walters.
Although I have been using the name Stephanie Walters both legally and socially for over a year now, I am finally making the change in my professional life as well.
I also have some exciting announcements coming soon, so stay tuned to see how my voice studio is growing!
Keep singing,
Stephanie Walters 🩷

Andrew has been a student who I have felt incredibly lucky to work with. I have learned so much while working with him, not only about the metalcore community, but about the needs of singers who use their voices in highly impactful ways. The progress we’ve made in the years we’ve worked together (how lucky am I to say that) has been incredible to watch, and the success his band Johnny Booth continues to see is fantastic.
Andrew has opened my studio to an entire genre of singers, and I feel eternally grateful to him for being open minded and ready to jump into vocal technique for his health and longevity with me as his coach. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for him!
