It is with deep sadness that I share the news that Ryann Lavelle, who tended this page with compassion and devotion, serving as an inspiration to so many, passed away peacefully at 11:21 PDT on April 2, 2025.
Ryann entrusted me as an Admin a while ago and her daughter, Gina, asked that I thank each of you for the love and support you’ve shared with her here over the years.
Ryann was a wise, kind, beautiful, brave, intelligent, and gentle woman whose presence will be greatly missed. Among her gifts to me personally was an introduction to the writing of Victoria Erickson, and so it is that I leave you with this quote from her in hopes that it serves as a reminder to live in and relish every moment of this wildly unpredictable life.
Rest in peace and love, Ryann; your soul is now as free as the love, wisdom and kindness which flowed so generously from you.

Nothing is as important as reaching our democratic financial goals.
It’s not easy for many people. However, we stand to lose our position if we don’t contribute generously.

AFTER MY SON'S DEATH, MY DIL PACKED MY THINGS AND TOLD ME TO LEAVE MY OWN HOME.
When my son, Daniel, passed away in a car accident, my DIL, Grace, showed up unannounced. Her expression was cold, her tone clipped. Without a word, she walked into my bedroom and started yanking clothes from my closet, tossing them onto the bed.
"What are you doing?" I asked, panic rising in my chest.
"You need to pack," she said flatly. "You're leaving. And your dog too."
My heart sank. "This is my home! What do you mean?"
"It's my house now," she snapped. "I've arranged for you to move into a care facility."
Grace packed with robotic efficiency, ignoring my protests and tears. Within an hour, my things were in her car, and I was being driven away from the home I'd raised Daniel in.
Then I saw a forest. ⬇️

Boundaries are important... a powerful reminder to honor your instincts and prioritize your well-being. It reflects the idea that saying "no" is not only a valid response but also a necessary one for maintaining healthy boundaries.
Remember, a "no" to others is often a "yes" to yourself.
