THE FINAL ROCKET FOOTBALL WEEKEND RECAP

The Varsity Rockets closed out the regular season by defeating the Versailles Tigers 29-22!

Offensively, Logan Ziegenbusch led the way both on the ground and through the air, accounting for 280 total yards and 4 total touchdowns. TJ Roberts added 90 total yards, while Tyson Vaubel hauled in what proved to be the game-winning touchdown early in the fourth quarter.

Defensively, Grant Beckman led the Rockets with 12 total tackles. Brody Murray came up with an interception, and Carter Edwards added a crucial interception with 4:30 remaining to help seal the victory. The Rockets then ran out the clock to secure the win.

With the victory, Anna finished the season on a five-game winning streak and with a 7-3 overall record. Although we fell short of our goal of making the postseason, we could not be prouder of how this team responded, battled, and finished the season.

One final thank-you to our nine seniors for everything they gave to Anna Football over the past four years. Best of luck in what comes next!

It’s not how we wanted the season to end, but we’re incredibly proud of this group of seniors and everything they’ve given to Anna Football.

Last night’s big win was a testament to this team’s heart, toughness, and determination. These seniors left it all on the field, showing the fight and leadership that helped get this program back on track and set the standard for what it means to be a Rocket.

To Jake, Grant, TJ, Riley, Carter, Julian, Austin, Noah, and Wyatt — thank you for the lasting impact you’ve made on Anna Football. The example you’ve set will carry on long after your playing days are over.

We also want to thank the parents of our seniors for the countless hours, sacrifices, and unwavering support you’ve given your sons and this program throughout the years. You’ve been a huge part of this journey.

Thank You!
