Meet Shalece Heugas

Shalece Heugas is a dance educator, choreographer, and performing artist with six years of teaching experience. She holds a B.F.A. in Dance with a concentration in Jazz from Point Park University and a Master of Business Administration. Her professional credits include commercial work with ZOA Energy and music video performances alongside Becky G and J Balvin. With a passion for multiple dance styles, including jazz, contemporary, and Latin dance, Shalece brings her versatility into both her choreography and teaching. As an educator and choreographer, she is passionate about empowering students to embrace their individuality, develop their artistry, and build strong technical foundations.

Let’s give a HUGE welcome to Daniel Hunalp

Daniel Hunalp is a professional dancer,
choreographer, educator, and performer from Deltona, Florida. With over 15 years of professional experience, his credits include Walt Disney World, Disney Cruise Line, Norwegian Cruise Line, Off-Broadway’s I Got Love, and numerous regional productions. He has also performed alongside artists including Miley Cyrus, the Jonas Brothers, Sofia Carson, Hilary Duff, Debby Ryan, and Meg Donnelly.

A lifelong dancer with a passion for Tap, Musical Theatre, and Ballet, Daniel has performed live on Walt Disney World stages more than 30,000 times, most recently as the Male Ballet Soloist in Festival of the Lion King at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

Today, Daniel is passionate about inspiring the next generation of performers. Alongside his wife, Alexa, he founded Broadway Unhinged , an educational dance platform focused on training, mentorship, and helping young artists reach their fullest potential.

“Anyone can dance.”

A belief held so deeply by Inês Buchalla that it became the foundation of a lifetime devoted to movement.

She believed dance could be taught. That artistry could be awakened. That with the right guidance, discipline, and love, every person could discover the dancer within.

And the world took notice.

That belief led her to become an award-winning choreographer, a four-time 1st-place winner at the Joinville Dance Festival, to work alongside remarkable names in dance such as Ismael Ivo, and to educate and graduate hundreds of dancers throughout her career.

But the awards were never the dream.

The dancers were.

Every student who discovered confidence.
Every body that learned to speak through movement.
Every dancer who walked into her classroom and left believing they were capable of more.

Without knowing it, she was creating something much bigger than choreography.

This is officially our last week of classes at Backstage Dance Studio as we prepare to move into our home and bring RISE to life.

Backstage gave us a place to begin before our doors were ready, and we are incredibly grateful for the space, the memories, and everyone who has been part of these first weeks. 🤎

Now, we turn our attention to the details—the studios, the classrooms, the programs, and all the little touches that will make RISE feel like home.

What began as a vision is becoming real.
