🚨➡️ Mark Mazzoleni, Fox Cities Forge NA3HL

Mark Mazzoleni, retired championship NCAA coach, and 2025 Wisconsin Hockey Hall of Fame inductee, is one of the owners of the new NA3HL Fox Cities Forge.

Let’s hear from Mark Mazzoleni!

⚫️ What motivated you to start a new junior team?
I was looking for something that would benefit boys from Wisconsin. So many young men want to move up the ladder and get to NAHL, USHL, and college hockey. This is a platform to begin their climb.

⚫️ What’s been the most challenging task thus far?
Developing a roster. We do not have any returning players. We are starting from scratch. Plus, we need billets, sponsorship, and to have a family-friendly first-class production.

⚫️ Where is the home rink?
Appleton Family Ice Center.

⚫️ What dates are the tryout camp?
Since we are new and the timing, we decided not to have a camp. However, in the future we will, and it will be low cost for players.

⚫️ How are you getting players?
We put it in the hands of our coaching staff. We will have our team when our season starts in Appleton on September 5.

⚫️ Tell me about the coaching staff?
Logan Wilt and Chase Crawshaw have experience at this level. We also have a goalie coach, skills coach, and strength and conditioning coach. Player development is our number one priority.

⚫️ From a player development perspective, what is the goal?
To move them up to the next level. We have an affiliate with the Janesville Jets. Our goal is to move them up the ranks and to college.

⚫️ Advice for kids that want to play after high school?
Don’t underestimate yourself. You’re only young once so go for your dreams. I would never have succeeded in hockey or life without playing junior hockey…it led me to everything and gave me lifetime lessons that helped me as a coach and in business.
