Friends of the Pack-Appleton Police Department K-9 Unit

Today is National K-9 Veterans Day. While this day is intended to honor K-9s who have served in the United States military, we also want to recognize the incredible working K-9s who serve in our community. 🐾

These loyal partners work side by side with their handlers, often putting themselves in harm’s way to protect others, asking for little in return except a ball and some well-earned love.

We’re proud to support hardworking K-9 teams at the Appleton Police Department: K-9 Onyx, K-9 Edison, K-9 Drakon, K-9 Kaleb, and K-9 Quinn.

Thank you to all K-9 teams, past and present.

Officer Doemel had to keep a close watch to make sure K-9 Drakon didn’t try to sample the artwork as they made their way through the Avenue of Ice Carvings with Appleton Downtown.

For Drakon, it may have looked like the world’s largest collection of very fancy water bowls. ❄️

All jokes aside, it’s always great to see the community out in every season and to appreciate the incredibly talented artist that make this event possible.

🏈 Two days after the Super Bowl and K-9 Edison is still excited about the game… so he had to try it for himself.

Appleton Parks and RecreationToy Ride-Along Week is in full swing at the Appleton Police Department!

This week, lots of kiddos sent in their stuffed pups to ride along with our officers, and some very lucky ones even spent time with our real police K-9s! 🐕‍🦺

K-9 Edison made it extra special by hosting a “Pup Club” meeting for his stuffed-animal recruits. Safe to say, the toys are having a ruff time in the best way.

K-9 Drakon and K-9 Edison may not have helped pull the sleigh last night, but they were definitely on standby. 🐾

After sharing K-9 Drakon at Camp Randall, we got a few questions asking if he’d make an appearance at Lambeau. 🏈

He sure did! Drakon worked Monday night’s game! Unfortunately, he didn’t bring the same kind of luck to the Packers as he did the Badgers. 💚💛

Badger game day is here! 🏈🐾 K-9 Drakon and Officer Doemel are on site, helping keep fans safe and showing off some K-9 skills along the way.
