I just had the privilege of teaching yoga for the last 4 days at the Rohatsu silent meditation retreat here in Appleton at Zen River Sangha. Morning practice included asana, and at the end of the day I lead the group in different guided relaxation methods.
At the end I was so very touched by the heartfelt appreciation people expressed. It reaffirms to me that I am on a right path, and am doing one of the things I am meant to do (the other is interior design). Sharing my knowledge of yoga, yoga therapy, and Āyurveda is such a joy for me. I have so much gratitude for those who participated. Deep bows. . .🙏🩷

I recently heard from one of my students and so appreciate being reminded of why I love to share the practice of yoga. Here's what she said to make me tear up. 🥲🥰
Hi Carol,
I want to let you know how much your guidance in yoga has helped me. I've been working with you for more than a year now and am definitely a healthier, happier, and more active being.
I appreciate your teachings on how I can move my body in smarter, kinder ways. You have a subtle yet clear way of communicating the practice of better ways to move the body, and just as important, a non-judgmental approach to open up thinking and take on challenges with a positive attitude. You listen to our challenges and give possible suggestions on approaches to test out, respecting our individuality.
Recently we did some stretching and breathing exercises that dramatically changed my energy flow. I shared with you that I carry a tension in my back from sepsis in 2014, and possibly even from childhood. During our breathing sessions, where you identified each phase of a breath, you described the drop of the diaphragm and pelvic floor to allow the lungs to expand and take in a larger and more relaxed breath. By the end of the session I was amazed that the tension in my back was gone. It had become such a part of me -- and like magic, it was gone. A cathartic experience that has sold me on the benefits of yoga and provides inspiration for continued learning.
Thank you, Carol.
