🏆 Sportsmanship Spotlight 🏆 for YSSL Opening Weekend! This week’s shoutouts go to a few teams that showed true class on the field. Respect, hustle, heart ❤️ - that’s what it’s all about! 👏

We also want to take a moment to appreciate the center referees, and assistant referees who make the games possible. Each week the comments relayed are all candid comments from referees. This week, one of our refs stepped up big time. He was made aware of the change just one day before the match, and ended up covering the game solo as a center ref. Reffing is not an easy job. It takes flexibility, dedication, and whole lot of patience - often with little notice and even less recognition. Cheers to the officials who show up, adapt on the fly, and keep the games moving along. We see you and appreciate you. ⚽️🖤

In the match between Lindenhurst Area Soccer Club (LASC) & Palatine Celtic Soccer Club the referee reported, “Clean game. No issues of any kind. Thanks parents, players, and coaches for a fun game!”

In the match between Bolingbrook Soccer Club & WC LIONS ACADEMY SC the referee expressed, “both team where good in sportsman ship and when I made calls they did not argue with me. one of the player on the home team was asking me why I called some of the calls I did but I explained it to him and he was really understanding about that after the game both coaches provided feedback that was good and bad and it helped a lot..”

In the match between FC-1 Soccer Academy & Hawthorn Woods Elite Soccer Club the referee stated, “Good game. players, coaches, and parents were all respectful. *Had to referee the game as a center. Both other Referee’s did not show up to the game. I was notified the day before about the change.”

In the match between DeKalb County United & Tri-Cities Soccer Association the referee noted, “Fun game. Coaches and parents were good. Players played. No issues”

In the match between Park Ridge Soccer Club - PRSC & Chicago Knights FC the assistant referee commented, “ The game was very good and good sportsmanship. Parents were very controlled and were just cheering there teams on.”

In the match between Lindenhurst Area Soccer Club (LASC) and Chicago Rush North the referee said, “Even though the game was one-sided, both team

🚛 The YSSL office is relocating this week to a new location about 15 minutes north of our current address.

The new office will be open on Tuesday and Wednesdays beginning next week, 9/1.

The YSSL fall player roster deadline is this Saturday, August 22.

This means YSSL clubs must submit their rosters to the league. The league will then verify the rosters. If you need rosters for a tournament please reach out to the league with team codes. We appreciate your patience as we work through the queue.

⏳ An important deadline is coming up in a few days. August 19 is THE last day for free game changes.

If an opposing team has not finalized game day plans NOW is the time to reach out to the league mediator. Not next week.

To reach out to the league mediator, click on the gray “mediator request” button from your game page and fill out the form, click SUBMIT.
