Started on April 6, the LMT’s 12th Annual thru hike has been awe-inspiring for all who participated in it or watched it from a distance. This year again, AFLMT is pleased to partner with the LMTA in its fundraising campaign to sustain its efforts to protect the LMT as a conservation corridor and an economic lifeline to all the communities along the LMT! Your donations via the MightyCause crowdfunding platform (see link below) are tax deductible under US law. Proceeds from your donations will fund a grant donation from AFLMT to LMTA in line with AFLMT’s Mission to “promote educational programs, environmental protection, natural and cultural heritage conservation and rural economic development related to and around the Lebanon Mountain Trail.” Thank you for your support!

https://www.mightycause.com/team/Lmta-Hike-A-Thon

As we launch our first annual Thru-Hike since 2019, the Lebanon Mountain Trail Association (LMTA) is also launching its first ever Hike-A-Thon, encouraging people to raise funds while they hike, whether on the LMT or elsewhere in the world. Non-hikers who want to simply support our cause can also easily do so as well!

The LMTA's mission is to maintain, protect and preserve the LMT. Our passionate team works tirelessly to conserve the trails' natural resources and cultural heritage, which in essence supports the protection of all our Lebanese mountains. We promote the LMT as a rural tourism destination, but also advance economic opportunities to local communities across the trail.

HELP US SUSTAIN OUR MISSION AND THE LMT BY:

1) Simply donating through our Mightycause page, Instagram or through offline donations.
2) Creating a fundraiser on our Mightycause team page to begin raising funds yourself!
3) Share our fundraiser with family and friends to reach as any people possible.

The AFLMT is proud to support the LMTA in its ongoing LMTA Virtual Hike fundraising event. The LMTA has set a target of $75,000 for this crowdfunding event, which replaces the traditional annual fall trek and fundraising dinner organized by the LMTA (which cannot be held this year due to COVID-19). Funds raised will enable the LMTA to pursue its mandate to protect, maintain and develop the LMT as (1) a natural and cultural heritage conservation corridor cutting across the mountains of Lebanon from North to South; and (2) an economic lifeline to more than 75 trailside towns and villages by helping them to set up and operate guesthouses, training local guides, and supporting micro-entrepreneurs and hospitality providers.
To participate in the LMTA Virtual Hike event, go the LMTA Virtual Hike event page on MightyCause and either (1) “Donate” directly in support of the event on the Mighty, or (2) “Join the Event” -i.e., Start a Fundraiser to create an individual campaign page (e.g., organize a hike in your own area) which you can customize and share, with your own fundraising target, and from which people can make donations to the LMTA Virtual Hike Event.
If you live in the USA, you can also make donations directly by writing a check payable to AFLMT, which would save on the fees levied by the crowd funding platform MightyCause, and mailing it to:
AFLMT
1300 Wilson Blvd, Suite 920
Arlington, VA 22209
USA
If you mail a check payable to AFLMT, please write “LMTA Virtual Hike” in the Memo line. We will add any donation received by a check payable to AFLMT, with a reference to the “LMTA Virtual Hike” in the memo line, to the fundraising meter here.
Remember, all donations made to AFLMT are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. As no goods or services of any value will be provided to you in exchange for your donation in support of the LMTA Virtual Hike, your donation will be fully tax deductible.
Thank you for your continued support to AFLMT, LMTA, and the LMT!

The Lebanon Mountain Trail Association needs you more than ever!
Despite the very challenging times that our beloved Lebanon has been going through this year, the LMTA has remained strongly committed to its mission and has been more engaged than ever before in assisting our trail-side communities, in addition to our ongoing efforts of maintaining and preserving the Lebanon Mountain Trail.

While Covid-19 and travel restrictions prevented us from hosting our events this year, hiking together during our Fall Trek, or dining with you at our annual Fundraiser, we still want to uphold our traditions.

We invite you to hike with us VIRTUALLY from anywhere in the world from November 5th to November 22nd
12 Hiking Days | 8 Sections | 120 Km
Choose your challenge!

Read more on how to register & participate on mightycause.com/event/lmta-virtual-hike

Experience the entire journey with us, from sunrise to sunset through daily online stories, videos, scenic pictures, and live feeds of the Lebanon Mountain Trail.

Registration starts at $25 or LBP 100,000, although you can donate any other amount to participate and support our mission.

Any donation, including participation in the virtual hike, will help us reach our target to raise $ 75,000 by the end of November.
This will help us finance and sustain the LMTA’s operations for the coming year.

We’re excited to share this new and amazing journey with you and to celebrate our trail and shared heritage!

Amazing initiative from Lebanon Mountain Trail again

In the past month, the LMTA family has been hard at work, putting together a meaningful fundraising campaign to support the victims of the Beirut explosion. And after careful planning, we are launching the to help families whose livelihoods have been severely impaired by the explosion.

The Beirut Relief Initiative connects our communities, from the mountains to the city. We will tap into our network of Lebanese 'Mouneh' (winter provisions) producers across the trail's villages and communities, to source basic necessities for affected households in Beirut.
We will also organize hikes for children and youth from Beirut, to help them rejuvenate and recover from the trauma of the tragic events of August 4th.

We hope to raise a total of $25,000, which will help us support 300 families for a period of 6 months.

Support our Beirut Relief Initiative by donating on the online payment gateway of our website lebanontrail.org/donation.
Donations can also be made in cash, check, or bank transfer. (Mention Beirut Relief Initiative in your message).
Every donation counts!

Stay tuned for more information on our upcoming fundraising initiatives and activities.

Did you know that we have 11 ambassadors representing the LMT in 9 countries around the world?

Through our LMT Ambassadors around the world, we are still connected: they are reaching out to us despite the lockdown.

Our ambassadors are our international spokespersons; they actively promote the Lebanon Mountain Trail abroad, each in their own capacity. Namely through photography exhibitions, tourism & outdoor fairs, eco-friendly events, promotion of hikes on our Friendship Trails, networking and much, much more…
Passionate hikers in love with Lebanon’s nature, they are also the voice of LMT in their own countries.

We are extremely grateful for their consistent support, as they also assist us in positioning the LMT on an international trail map.
