Whats up E60 Fam! David coming at you today with another ! Today we will be walking through hanging leg raises.

1. Grab a pull up bar with an overhand grip with your thumbs wrapped around the bar to keep yourself stable.

2. Squeeze your abs and slowly lift your legs up to a 90 degree angle with your hips - we want to feel a strong tension in our entire ab column.

3. SLOWLY lower your legs back to the starting position. The key to keeping your body stable and from swinging back and forth is the slow return to starting position. The faster we move, the more gravity and momentum will take over leading to a swaying motion. This not only takes tension off of your core, but also places unnecessary stress on your shoulders as you swing back and forth.

For variations, try turning your trunk to one side, and pulling your legs up with that same, controlled motion. This will target your obliques more than a traditional leg raise and is a great way to mix it up.

Hanging leg raises are a great exercise to engage the entire abdominal column and strengthen your core, but can be difficult for beginners. If you are trying this for the first time, start with knee raises instead and build up to straightened legs.

Give this move a try and see how many repetitions you can get in your next ab workout!

Happy !! This week, @julianaplescia is bringing you 5 steps to a perfect squat! Check out her tips below⬇️

1. Stand with your feet about shoulder-width apart, make sure the weight is in your heels, and core is activated

2. Take a big inhale, and as you lower into your squat, push your hips back like you’re sitting in a chair

3. Make sure to actively push your knees out to keep them from caving in, and keep your chest up

4. At the bottom of your squat, aim to have your hamstrings parallel with the floor

5. As you return to standing, exhale and squeeze your glutes at the top.

You can join Juliana for a lower body class this Friday morning!

Want to front squat like a pro but you’re struggling with your front rack position? Check out Joe’s tips below!⬇️

Helpful tips for the “front rack” position:

1 - Hold the bar with hands just wider than shoulder-width apart.

2 - Step in close to the bar, making sure that it is level and touching the top of your chest and front of your shoulders.

3 - Without letting go of the bar, bring your elbows forwards and up as high as you can manage. This will ensure that the bar is resting on the tops of your shoulders and not in your hands.
