Long term, boosting your serotonin levels through healthy eating and exercise will significantly reduce your sugar cravings. Right now the best course of action is #1 don't keep sweets in the house. #2 Keep healthier alternatives on hand such as fresh fruit. A good late night snack for a sweet tooth is a slice of apple with a little peanut or almond butter on it. Both sweet and filling.

It's not always what you do, in fact it's a lot about what you should stop doing that can help you reach your health and fitness goals. What are some of the things that you are doing that may be making your health worse? Write them down, make a "TO NOT DO" List!

Lemon water flushes out toxins, balances your pH, assists in weight loss, and boosts your immune system. Itโ€™s more effective when itโ€™s nice and warm too. Squeeze 1 entire lemon in to a glass, then fill it with hot water. Drink on an empty stomach at least 20 minutes before eating anything.

When you leave it to later in the day, you may get tired or your day may get away from you and lose your motivation to do it. There are many benefits to working out in the morning as well: A workout and good breakfast in the morning will jump start your mind and body. You'll have more energy throughout the day, be more productive, more likely to make good food choices and it will help you rest easier, sleep better in the evening. Plus, the best part is.....you don't have to think about it all day. No stressing over when your going to make it, if you can, gotta schedule it around food, picking up the kids, make dinner, the list goes on and on in your head all day for most people. If you donโ€™t love eating fruits and vegetables, then you should teach yourself to love them. Do not do it in an abrupt manner. What you can do is to introduce the fruits and veggies in a slower pace, such as just adding a serving of them each day.

Once you get accustomed to that, which may take a week, you can gradually increase the amount of fruits and veggies in your diet, in order to become healthier.

Move your body everyday! Moving our bodies daily is so vital for our mental health, our strength, and for healthy skin. By getting ourselves moving a little more each day, we are helping our bodies and minds function at their best - hereโ€™s how:

1. It improves blood flow
2. Boosts your energy level
3. Enhances your mood
4. Regulates digestion

These are just a few benefits that will help you look and feel healthy all the time by moving. Some type of active rest like yoga or stretching is a huge bonus!

Schedule exercise like an appointment
Write down exactly when you are going to workout in your calendar or planner. You are the boss of you. And you wouldnโ€™t cancel and appointment with the boss, would you?

If you neglect yourself for the sake of external problems, you will be creating more problems than you are solving. Do somethingโ€”however smallโ€”for yourself each day. Even if you only devote 30 minutes to your health each day, or do 10 minutes of exercise at a time throughout your day.

Okay, so we had to start day 1 off with a clean slate! Itโ€™s only fair.

To practice self compassion means ditching beating yourself up at the slightest transgression. According to the Harvard Medical School Special Health Report, self-compassion can help people stick to healthy diets.

It is extremely important to get your shoulders warmed up before doing any upper body movements. Since you are using your shoulders in most exercises, you should take extra good care of them. These exercises will not only get you warmed up before your workout, but will increase your mobility, give you a better range of motion and more importantly protect you from injury.
