This is my “why.” Just four months after this review, she can now walk, trot, and canter—something she once thought she could never do. She’s learned not only how to ride, but how to ride in a way that betters the horse. Her main goal when we started was to take a once-pasture sour horse on a solo trail ride—and now she’s doing exactly that! For now the work here is done. I’ve loved every minute of the journey. Every horse I work with becomes a part of my story and helps me grow into a better horseman every day. I pray for continued growth 🥰

So proud of these two! Looking back at the first visit compared to now, it’s incredible how much progress they’ve made. Neither of them look or ride the same.

Every lesson is customized not only for Daniele, helping her become the strongest rider she can be, but also for the horse—teaching it to carry itself correctly and improve through targeted exercises. It’s never easy. Its a lot easier to just get on and lounge ride. But to take time to ride with intention, making ever move to better the horse. That progress is something beautiful. This past lesson, they both walked away smiling. ; ) These two are truly a power team!❤️

I got on first to see how he was feeling.. wowDaniele Stevens Chapman

Working on hill walks with Texas! Lots of backing up the hill forcing him to engage his body and hind! It’s sooo good for this horse in particularly who needs it, but good with even the most in shape horses from time to time! Angie is the best!

Good morning! Life has been so busy lately with summer coming to an end, and posting has unfortunately fallen to the bottom of the list. So I just want to leave you with this verse today:

“The horse is prepared for the day of battle, but the victory belongs to the Lord”
-Proverbs 21:31

Yes! 🙌🏽

Sometimes with rehab, it’s easier to throw the book at the horse and do every therapy under the sun, than to simply change a few things and do them very well.

It’s easy to keep trying new things: buying supplements and products and tack and gadgets and seeking externally for a solution, when the simplest answer sometimes is the answer: changing the horses lifestyle and teaching them to just move better.

It’s helpful to have someone with a good eye to help you take a step back and see the whole picture, find the missing piece, perfect it, and integrate them into the horses life.

You might not need every kind of tape and potion and massage gun out there to yield real results: you might just need to commit to riding and moving better

Horsemanship Pt. 1

When was the last time you truly paused and just breathed with your horse?

It might sound silly, but often we forget that we’re allowed to do that—to slow down, take a breath, and connect. Something so simple goes a long way, because horsemanship is about more than just riding or handling. It gives your horse the chance to feel and breathe with you, too. When did it become so common to ignore your horse?

Sometimes we don’t realize how disconnected we’ve become until we take that moment. So often we rush—pull the horse out, brush, tack up, head straight to the mounting block. But when you stop and think—wait, what am I doing?—that’s when the shift happens.

Instead, try this: walk in front of your horse, place a gentle hand on their nose, and just breathe together. Say hello. Be present.

It’s deeper than we think, and it’s what so many of us are missing. It’s not silly—it’s real. This is horsemanship. Not just riding. And sometimes, it’s not all about you- But we do it for the horse.

This is an extremely important note I make clear to all my riders. It does not matter how old, how young. ❤️

Are you more of a Western or English rider?

As controversial as that question can be, I truly believe you need to learn both if you want to be a well-rounded rider.

Each style has skills the other can teach you — from balance, to leg cues, to protecting and supporting your horses back in certain situations. You see the best western riders work their horses at a post! Posting is not just an English thing! Both are beautiful in their own way, and both have valuable basics that will make you not only a more versatile rider, but also more capable of handling whatever comes your way in the saddle.

And no, you don’t have to run out and buy a whole new set of tack. You can practice elements of both styles no matter what gear you have. In Western tack, you can still encourage your horse to move more forward and upward posting trot. In English tack, you can work on slowing down and refining your horse’s response to subtle cues. Personally, I think every horse and rider dshould have the ability to mov off the leg and have a soft neck rein. For multiple situations!

It’s totally fine to be “all in” on one discipline — i love the passion that brings! But knowing the basics of both will only make you better.

Thought it be silly to show young Meghan and her show days! She was a cutie! I alway loved both in and out of the show ring! Now that I train I realize how much deeper it is to know the basics of both.❤️
