The ASBR 14s closed out their state tournament with an absolute thriller, beating Northern Fairfax County 21–20 in an epic comeback win.
Down 20–5 in the 6th inning, this team refused to quit — piling up 13 hits over the final two innings to fight their way all the way back.
And then Alex Baldi delivered the walk-off run to end the game. 🔥

🏆 Congratulations to the 2026 Better Sports Club Award recipients! 🏆
This year marked the 70th Annual Better Sports Club Awards, celebrating outstanding Arlington student-athletes and community members for their achievements, leadership, character, and commitment to others.
A special congratulations to Henry Ge**er, recipient of the George McQuinn Memorial Trophy as Baseball Sportsman of the Year. The award is sponsored by Arlington Cal Ripken Babe Ruth, Arlington Little League, and Arlington Senior Babe Ruth. Henry has been a three-year varsity catcher at Washington-Liberty High School and will continue his baseball career at Gettysburg College this fall.

Congratulations, Joseph Black! 🏆
Joseph Black has been named the recipient of the Yorktown 2026 Lou Serpa Award, an honor recognizing a senior player who represents the very best of the game.
ASBR President Mike Murray presented the award to Joseph on Yorktown’s Senior Night, alongside Coach Nick Meyers and Joseph’s parents.
The Lou Serpa Award honors the legacy of Mr. Lou Serpa, who dedicated his life to young players throughout Arlington as a coach, mentor, and teacher. Each year, Yorktown varsity baseball underclassmen vote for a senior who demonstrates respect for the game, respect for umpires, coaches, and teammates, enthusiasm and passion, leadership, encouragement of younger players, and a true understanding of what it means to be part of a team.
Joseph will continue his baseball career at the University of Tennessee this fall, and we couldn’t be prouder to celebrate this well-deserved honor.
