Our culture is fixated on youth, on potential, on lists of “30 under 30” — especially for women, who are assigned a “biological clock,” whether they believe in it or not.

I had to dismantle all that.
Hey is anybody running 16 tomorrow at Carderock or Fletcher’s?
Would anyone be interested in running the Baltimore Half Marathon on October 19th? I’m running the Georgetown half but looking for something in another city as well.

If you are free tomorrow (Sunday, August 25th), come drink a couple of beers, hear interesting talks on hot science topics of today, and support science-friendly candidates in the 2019 Virginia state elections!
Hi everyone - I'm looking for four additional teammates for a 200 mile relay race through the Virginia countryside on September 13-14 (Colonial 200). Our team already has eight members with mixed levels of intensity. We're a hodgepodge group of friends, coworkers, and secondhand acquaintances. Hi Capital Area Runners,

I’m working on the 10th National Race to End Women's Cancer, a 5K run and 1-mile walk returning to DC on Sunday, Nov. 3, 2019. The event raises funds and awareness for the Foundation for Women’s Cancer. Would you be interested in a discount code for registration?

I realize that you have lots of choices for 5K charity runs, so we appreciate your consideration for ours, as it supports all women affected by below the belt cancers - sisters, Moms, grandmothers, colleagues and friends. After reviewing your group’s mission online, I thought our Race would be a good fit for your team.

Please feel free to respond to me at [email protected] with any further questions. We look forward to hearing from you!
For you past CIMers- where to stay? Start or finish?? And why? TIa
We're coming back to DC on April 14th!! New race course, prizes, and beers after the race Dacha Beer Garden!! Link below to register! Teams of 2-4 allowed

Due to the potential for freezing rain tomorrow morning which could make the run slippery and traveling to the run dangerous, we’re canceling the January 9 Sunday run. DIY later in the day if you’ve got somewhere clear and safe to run or go with a dreadmill as a last resort.

A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for Sunday morning across northern portions of the forecast area for freezing rain. More details on the forecast here:
