The paths of a fighter and a martial artist are entirely different. Being a fighter is temporary, but being a martial artist is a lifelong journey. The word I cherish most in Mixed Martial Arts is “art.” Through this sport, we express what lies within us. As human beings, we are all unique, each born with different talents. Some people are given a piece of paper and create incredible drawings; others are handed an instrument and compose beautiful music. In our sport, we express ourselves through movement, challenge, and discipline in the octagon. There are fights that stand the test of time, immortalized in history. You can witness the way some fighters move—slipping, countering as if time itself slows down in those moments. That is the art, unfolding in the present.

Sorry to announce that this will be our last month of holding classes at Apex Recreation Center. They have elected to cancel our contact and pursue in house programs instead.

We will continue to look for other possible locations to hold classes someday. I've enjoyed teaching for many years and want to thank all of our students for the memories.
