🚨 Calling our Volleyball Family 🚨
If you’ve spent any time around the volleyball community—especially in the NY/NJ/CT area or at major national events—chances are you know Craig Boston.
Maybe you know him as the guy working tirelessly behind the scenes, spending long hours assembling, repairing, and taking down countless net systems. Maybe you know him from his time refereeing DII and DIII NCAA matches, line judging at all levels (including DI), or as a former college men’s coach. At 57 years old, Craig has dedicated his life to our sport in the most kind, thoughtful, and generous ways imaginable.
Now, Craig needs our help.
Within the past week, while working a youth volleyball camp in South Dakota, Craig suffered a devastating stroke. Currently, half of his body is paralyzed, and he is unable to speak.
To make an unimaginably hard situation even more difficult, Craig is hospitalized in a state far from his home in Yonkers, NY, without nearby family. Like many hardworking people of modest means, Craig had to give up his health insurance when purchasing coverage through the portal became too difficult and expensive to maintain. Consequently, he is facing this medical emergency entirely out of pocket.
Craig's sister has organized a GoFundMe. While his volleyball family has started to contribute quickly and generously, he has a massive mountain to climb. Stroke rehabilitation and long-term care are incredibly expensive, and Craig is facing this without a safety net.
Please consider donating to help a man who has given so much time, sweat, and love to our sport. If you are not in a position to donate, please SHARE this post to help spread the word. Let’s rally behind Craig and get him the care he desperately needs. 🏐❤️
