ICON gym is a family. People engage each other during their workouts and encourage others in reaching fitness goals. Dave really cares about each individual in the gym and staff goes out of their way to make you feel comfortable in your workouts.
Awesome place. The owner and trainers are experienced, and care about the class and the people they are training. I wish I could afford to keep going. The results I achieved for the 3 to 4 months I was there and followed the workouts and meal plans I dropped body weight, fat and gained muscle mass. I felt energized also. If there were affordable options I'd return. However, I did get results.
OMG!!!! I had an awesome first day at the gym. I actually felt a muscle developing. πŸ˜€
Took a 5 min break then finished out with a 1 mile walk away the lbs video for the abs. Got my workout in!!πŸ’ͺ🏽πŸ’ͺ🏽
No 7pm class tonight, work out @ hm it is. Think I did ok ... walked to the track, 2x around and back hm totaling 2.25 miles.
Indian style stir fry! Chicken breast, quinoa, kale, portobello mushrooms, cilantro. Seasoned with cardamom, coriander, fennel seeds, cumin, turmeric, and chili flakes...stir fried in lemon juice. Got my .5 carb, 1 protein, and 1++ veggie for lunch!!!

If you are stuck or just not getting anywhere with your results...

Before you start getting mad at yourself or your coach (if you have one) it’s important to ask yourself the following

Am I:

Drinking enough water

Sleeping enough

#2 daily

Digesting well

Managing stress

Tracking overall food intake

If you can say you are doing all these and doing them well, then the issue may lie deeper and we may need to look deeper or refer out

But until then stick with the basics, train hard with intention and eat well.

#1 - You just have to start - going into your first session can be a little nerve racking - we’ve all been new to something and it can be scary - ensure you aren’t going into a place with trainers that A) don’t care πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈand B) have no idea 😭
.
#2 - Lift weights. Heavy compound movements and pullups will get you to where you want to be A LOT faster then pointless cardio like circuits & HIIT training - sure these things are great but ONLY when paired with strength training and your nutrition matches. The strongest girls I know are the leanest πŸ’ͺ

#3 - Community - absolutely your gym experience is about YOU but when you surround yourself with other strong, happy, healthy people it only progresses you faster - hang out with whom you want to become.
