Special note from hearing: Boathouse will be 600ft from water’s edge but NoVa Parks will provide dollies for crewman to transport boats to and from!

How neat it is to be driving down the road and coincidentally see our boats on the move! Coach Love has spent this lovely day working hard to get the Algonkian site ready for the boats that were housed at the school all winter. If anyone is willing to be hands on help at Algonkian throughout the season, please let us know.

Thank you to Mike Reynolds and Alex Cooney for purchasing 3 new coach launch boats. Martha Raterman also purchased a new 9.9 hp motor yesterday - all at Pro Bass Shop in Ashland, VA.
BRC Ergathon fund raising effort to help our crew members get on the water safely this spring! PLEASE support our crew team as they row their hearts out next weekend 2/23/2019! Every dollar raised for every meter they row is greatly appreciated! They will be rowing 5000 meters each!
There will be a Broad Run Crew spring season interest meeting this Wednesday, January 9th at 7pm in the BR Library. This is only for those who did not attend the meeting in October.

Tuesday February 20th 4:30 PM - 6:00 PM BR Team Room 2
Wednesday February 21st 4:30 PM - 6:00 PM BR Team Room 2
Saturday February 24th 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM Claude Moore Recreation Center Pool.
Please arrive 15 minutes early and check in with the BR Representative in the main lobby. We will walk into the center together.
The spring rowing season will be upon us in no time. As practice time on the water approaches, we will be holding a mandatory parent meeting on Wednesday January 31st, 8PM in the BR Library. We will be using this time to address the requirements needed to be a member of Broad Run Crew. All parents of athletes who are participating in the spring 2018 season are asked to attend.

[11/30/17] There will be a meeting for all rowers on Friday, December 1st in room 636 at 8:30am with Coach Mike!!!
Thanks to those who attended the BRR Parent Meeting. We had an amazing turn out and are looking forward to another exciting row season.
As a reminder, below is an outline of the registration process that was covered during the meeting:
If you plan to participate in winter conditioning/spring season:
go to www.broadrunrowing.org *select Join/Registration*
step 1: complete the online registration
step 2: complete BRHS Online Athletic Forms
step 3: complete and turn in BRR Waiver of Liability to BRHS Athletic Department and place in crew mailbox. (2016-2017 spring crew does not need to complete this form)
*In addition, a valid physical exam dated after May 1, 2017 must be submitted to the Athletic Department.*
Those participating in winter conditioning must complete a PowerTrain Membership Agreement in addition to the above. This temporary membership should be returned to PowerTrain along with payment ($29/month). Forms may be picked up at PowerTrain. Winter conditioning will begin promptly at 4:45 PM on December 4th (Please arrive by 4:30pm)
*Have all of your paperwork and payment submitted to PowerTrain by Friday Dec 1st.*
For anyone who is interested in being a coxswain this season, please send a message to Coach Love at [email protected] as part of your registration process and include your name and current grade.
*All registrations should be completed by November 27th.*

Fall crew is over and now we need to get "at the ready" for our official rowing season, spring!

1. Athlete Interest meeting Friday November 10, 8:30 AM – 9: 00 AM. Room 636.
Please attend and bring anyone interested in crew.
2. Parent/Student Meeting Wednesday, November 15, 7:30 PM – 8:30 PM in the library.

Attendance for both meetings is requested so we can share all the details related to preparations for spring crew and get a headcount for planning and equipment purchases.
