NVVA Volleyball LYV has now expanded the league and added an option for team registration in order to support our players from Loudoun County who won’t be able to compete with their high school this fall.
nvva.com For more than 20 years, Loudoun Youth Volleyball has been providing volleyball opportunities for girls and boys from elementary to high school ages. Our program is one of the main pipelines for the high school program in the county with more than 20,000 athletes participating in our league. Our hi
BW VB Families-
📌 A few updates after the most recent VHSL announcement:
1. TRYOUTS are postponed and an update will be sent out once we determine dates.
2. I am checking to see about “if” and “when” we can host open gyms and once I get a response I will share that info.
3. For the Varsity program a decision will be made on August 24th to determine if playoffs will be part of the Spring Season.
4. There is an overlap between sports in the spring so multi sport players need to think about priorities.
5. For those that have been a Briar Woods Falcon and played club ball in the past...at this point you may have to decide on which program you want to be part of next spring. It will be here sooner then you think. You need to ask yourself, “Do I want to represent and be part of Briar Woods High School or my club team?” Lots of things to think about for parents and athletes as the season gets closer. Areas that come to mind are the social scene of playing for high school vs club, finances may play a factor, the coaching aspect, playing time, and so forth.
6. For the Spring season we will adhere to the VHSL and L.Co. Policy concerning attendance.
During these uncertain times one thing is consistent....things change.
If you have any questions feel free to reach out to me and will do my best to provide an answer!

📌Message From Coach Riggio:
"Start date for Summer workouts has been pushed back to July 15. Coordination is still going on between LCPS and VDOE. As soon as I get more information I’ll be sure to pass the word!
locosports.info Briar Woods libero Chandler Manusky has committed to play indoor and beach volleyball at the College of Charleston starting in the 2021-2022 school year.
👀MESSAGE FROM COACH RIGGIO:
We are moving forward with finalizing plans for how to conduct summer workouts in the safest and most efficient manner possible. Here are some key points that we can share at this point:
✅All workouts will be conducted outside and limited to 1 hour.
✅The AD and Coaches are in the process of receiving training before workouts can begin.
✅The first allowed day of workouts will start July 15.
✅Workouts will only be for CURRENT Students (rising 9th-12th graders)-members of the class of 2020 MAY NOT participate.
✅Physicals can now be emailed to [email protected] and [email protected] and/or collected by the coach.
✅Athletes MUST bring at least 32 ounces of their own water. They will not be allowed to participate if they show up without it.
✅Each athlete must have and bring their OWN hand sanitizer.
✅If you have not done so already players need to complete the Athlete Questionnaire https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSc957kYbDHZvod_zwk4Mto7-usvGHNuDcgj0S4fUET5RC6aAg/viewform (This is extremely important so coaches can plan accordingly. There will be a CAP for the number of attendees allowed for summer workouts.)
✅A sign up form will be posted and sent out soon for the first workout once time/day has been approved.
We want to recognize and congratulate Chandler Manusky on her recent commitment to play for the College of Charleston (D1)!

A few updates...
✅OPEN GYMS - If your player is planning on trying out this Fall please have them complete the "Athlete Questionnaire": https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSc957kYbDHZvod_zwk4Mto7-usvGHNuDcgj0S4fUET5RC6aAg/viewform (Coaches need to have a general headcount for if/when the Athletic Department gives us the green light on open gyms. The guidance recently provided to coaches indicates a limit on the number of people allowed inside so we will need a headcount for planning purposes. For those that have been proactive and already completed the form.....thanks!)
✅PHYSICAL FORMS - Make sure to have a completed VHSL Physical Form dated on/after May 1 2020 ready to turn in for participation in Fall Sports. Updates on how to submit the forms will be provided as soon as available. VHSL Physical form here --> https://www.vhsl.org/vhsl-physical-form/
docs.google.com IMPORTANT--Before you begin you will need basic tape or chalk and a wall to provide common volleyball measurements
Student-athletes must submit the VHSL Physical Form to their school's principal, after May 1, 2020, to be a member of a VHSL program during the 2020-21 school year. However, the Physical Form is NOT required for out-of-season workouts.
Edit: To clarify, the VHSL does not require a Physical Form for out-of-season workouts, but your local school division may require it. Check with your local school division to be sure.
Athletes planning to try out this Fall should complete this questionnaire. Fall sport tryouts are Aug 3-5th.

Watch till the end of the video for important information from Coach Riggio 😉 and get ready to mark those calendars! 🙌📅✅
We are currently developing plans to reopen fall athletics and activities. These plans will be made with the well-being of student-athletes, coaches, officials, and others, in mind. Any plan to reopen will be in accordance with the Governor's orders to reopen schools. The VHSL continues to meet with superintendents, principals, athletic directors, and others to develop multiple scenarios in which fall athletics and activities can return safely.
