Congratulations to Lane Rogers of The Classic City Dawgs on being selected as the recipient of the “Adaptive Sports Athlete Of The Year.” Lane will be presented the award this Sunday at The Piedmont Orthopedic & Sports Medicine Next Up Sports Awards in Downtown Athens at The Classic Center. Only a 7th grader, Lane utilizes his elite wheelchair mobility to dominate across handball, basketball, and football versus older student athletes. Lane was a dual JV All-State honoree in both football and basketball. While his athleticism is undeniable, it is his unselfish nature and “lead-by-action” mentality that makes him an instrumental key to his team’s collective success. Lane truly embodies the spirit of a champion, combining top-tier competitive drive with the heart of a supportive, all-around teammate.

The Dawgs had a great season and fell by 1 point, but we still brought home hardware!
