When speaking with your insurance company, remember: conversations matter, but written documentation protects you.

If an adjuster makes a statement, promises a follow-up, or explains coverage decisions, ask for it in writing. A quick email recap creates a clear record and helps prevent misunderstandings later in the claims process.

Written communication can:
• Confirm what was discussed
• Clarify next steps and timelines
• Provide documentation if disputes arise
• Keep everyone accountable throughout the claim

At Ally Public Adjusting, we encourage policyholders to document important claim conversations and maintain organized records every step of the way.

One of the biggest mistakes homeowners make after discovering property damage is waiting too long to start the claims process.

What begins as a small water stain can quickly become a much larger problem. As time passes, evidence can deteriorate, damage can spread, and documenting the original cause becomes more difficult.

The sooner you document and report damage, the stronger your claim position may be.

If you've recently noticed water damage, storm damage, or another property loss, don't wait. Start documenting today and understand your options before time works against you.

Have you ever wondered why two contractors or adjusters can inspect the same damage and come back with completely different estimates?

The difference is rarely just about price. It's usually about scope.

What's included, what's missed, hidden damage, code requirements, and pricing data can all significantly impact the final number.

That's why a detailed inspection and comprehensive estimate are so important when evaluating a property damage claim.

Have questions about an estimate you've received? Give us a call at 404-424-9477.

After a loss, it's natural to want to start cleaning up immediately. However, preserving evidence is one of the most important steps in protecting your insurance claim.

Damaged flooring, drywall, roofing materials, and contents can all provide valuable information during the investigation process.

Remember: What's gone can't be inspected.

If you're facing property damage and have questions about documentation or mitigation, our team is here to help.

A single word in an insurance policy can cost tens of thousands of dollars.

After a tornado damaged a Texas home, the question became whether that tornado qualified as a “windstorm” under the policy. The Texas Supreme Court said yes, allowing an insurer to apply a higher 2% windstorm deductible to a claim.

The lesson for policyholders? Read the fine print. The definitions in your policy matter. When policies leave room for interpretation, courts may not see it the way you do.

Attorneys Larry Bache and William 'Trey' Flournoy wrote about tornado windstorm rulings in recent posts on the Property Insurance Coverage Law Blog. Read more by visiting our website.
