When I first started my journey in Life Coaching ROC Life and Wellness Coaching , I learned that our Thoughts Determine Our Results (there is actually an entire flow, let me know if you want more details).

Now, most "coaching" that I have encountered tends to be quite secular, and so in my daily reading, I LOVE coming across scripture that validates what I teach anyone who will listen: CONTROL YOUR THOUGHTS.

Here, Paul is exhorting believers in the city of Corinth to "... take captive every thought... " - yes, CONTROL YOUR THOUGHTS.
Whenever you have a thought (and we have millions a day), determine if that thought serves you and is in accordance with scripture; if it is, keep it, but if it is not, discard it.

For example, "I am not worthy of love...." - well, not sure that thought has ever served anyone well, and it is certainly against scripture, "Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?" (Matthew 6:26). So absolutely discard that one, right? :)

I have been quite frustrated lately with the repairs on the house, dealing with the attorneys, and the builder... and this was part of my daily reading today.

Paul offers some great advice in Ephesians, and especially at the end of Chapter 4.

For those who enjoy reading:
So from now on, there must be no more lies. Speak the truth to one another, since we are all parts of one another. Even if you are angry, do not sin: never let the sun set on your anger or else you will give the devil a foothold.
Anyone who was a thief must stop stealing; instead he should exert himself at some honest job with his own hands so that he may have something to share with those in need.
No foul word should ever cross your lips; let your words be for the improvement of others, as occasion offers, and do good to your listeners; do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God who has marked you with his seal, ready for the day when we shall be set free.
Any bitterness or bad temper or anger or shouting or abuse must be far removed from you -- as must every kind of malice.
Be generous to one another, sympathetic, forgiving each other as readily as God forgave you in Christ.

We all have a desire to belong... to be a part of something bigger... whether we want to be a part of the "In Crowd" in school, or part of a sports team, or some other "club"...
Today, John reminds us that we are all part of God's family... "See what great love the Father has given us, that we should be called children of God" (1 John 3:1).
What a great and amazing thing to be a part of; what an amazing family to call our own...
Each day, I am amazed that God would welcome me, a sinner (and I do / have done some stupid things) into His family.
