Author | Career Visibility Advisor, help high-performing corporate women aged 40–60 who are overlooked for promotions despite doing everyone’s work become visible, respected leaders so they can advance their careers without burnout.
Working harder isn't always the answer.
Sometimes you're already performing at the level required.
You're delivering.
You're solving problems.
You're taking on more responsibility.
But if the value of that work isn't being clearly understood, your effort can continue to produce results without producing the career movement you're expecting.
That's the difference between performance and positioning.
Performance answers: What did you accomplish?
Positioning asks: What does your contribution signal about your value, capability, and readiness?
That's one of the conversations we'll be having inside Hidden in Plain Sight on September 12.
If you've been working hard and wondering why the next opportunity still feels out of reach, this conversation is for you.

Confidence is an outcome, not a prerequisite.
Many high-achieving professionals wait for their confidence to catch up before they speak up, set a boundary, or step into a higher-visibility role.
We tell ourselves: "Once I feel 100% ready, I'll claim my seat at the table."
That’s backwards. Confidence isn't built in your head through over-thinking or perfectionism. It’s built on the ex*****on staircase.
Every small act of; articulating your value in a meeting, refusing to absorb another task off-the-clock, or naming your impact directly, is a step up.
Action creates belief.
You don't wait for permission or self-assurance to act. You act, and the evidence of your ability follows.
As you wrap up this week, ask yourself: What is one small, strategic action I’ve been delaying until you I ready?
Take it before Monday.
Have a great weekend.

This is where leadership gets interesting.
Because fixing the person while leaving the system untouched usually means the problem comes back wearing a different name.
When something repeatedly goes wrong in your organization, which question do you think leaders are most likely to skip?
A setback isn’t a sign to abandon the destination. it’s just a signal to recalculate the route.
When you miss an exit, your GPS doesn’t glitch out, give up, and turn off. It adjusts. It recalculates.
We often treat a temporary detour like a systemic failure. We question the whole strategy, doubt our timeline, or consider pulling back on our goals entirely.
Here’s your reminder for the week:
Detours are part of navigation, not proof of failure.
The goal stays the same; the ex*****on changes.
Pausing to recalculate is strategic, not stalling.
If you hit a roadblock this week, don't throw away the destination. Just recalculate the journey.
Drop a 🔄 in the comments if you’re currently recalculating your route or save this for the next time a detour tries to derail your momentum.
If you’re dreading your next performance review because you don't know how to articulate your impact without cringing; this session was built for you.

A setback isn't a reason to lose faith in your dreams! It's a chance to regroup, refocus, and find an even better path to success. 🌟
We often let a temporary detour discourage us, but what if we saw it as an opportunity to learn and grow? 🤔
Remember: Detours are a natural part of the journey, not a sign of defeat. 💪
A lot of corporate women stay quiet because they think advocating for themselves means acting like the loudest, most obnoxious person in the room.
It doesn’t. Loud is not synonymous with confidence. Often, noise is just a defense mechanism.
Strategic visibility is having a clear Personal Value Proposition (PVP). A PVP bridges the gap between what you do day-to-day and how the organization measures value.
When you connect your work directly to operational stability, revenue, or risk mitigation, advocating for yourself stops feeling like bragging. It becomes a statement of fact.
