FLOW Yoga Retreats
We believe meaningful connection matters.
FLOW Yoga Retreats curates welcoming spaces around the world where strangers become friends, friends become family, and journeys become part of your story.

When people ask us what makes FLOW Yoga Retreats different than other yoga retreat offerings, destinations are never the first thing that comes to mind.
The first thing that always comes to mind is our FLOW family.
.. Friendships made and continued throughout the years.
.. Hurt-from-laughing bellies that are full with happiness.
.. Hearts filled with care, connection, support.
.. A feeling of belonging.
Over and over, our guests tell us the same thing:
"I came for a retreat and left with a family."
Today is the final day to save your seat for Journey with Heart: Discovering the Soul of Spain.
There are still a few seats left at the table. If you've been waiting for a sign, this is your invitation.
Registration closes tonight. ❤️

A love letter from Tra....
Lately, I've been thinking about road signs.
With a mobile business, I spend a lot of time driving, and one thing I've noticed is how far in advance (or not!) road crews place "One Lane Road Ahead" signs. Sometimes they're miles before the actual lane closure. Other times, the lane closure is RIGHT THERE!
Weird I know, but this got me wondering: how much distance do we place between ourselves and our futures?
Most of us are pretty good at putting distance between ourselves and things we don't want. The overdue phone call. The junk drawer waiting to get organized. The difficult conversation. The project that's been taunting us from the corner of the desk.
But if we're honest, we often do the same thing with the things we *do* want. 🫣
I spent five (5!) years looking at yoga teacher training before I finally signed up. Five years... Of looking at brochures (not many web pages way back then). Of wondering what would happen if I took the training. Of wondering what would happen if I didn't. Five years between me and my heart's desire. Not because I didn't want it. But there was always a reason to wait a little longer. A reason it wasn't the right time. A reason to put a little more distance between myself and something that might actually change my life.
And that is certainly not the only time I've done that. Looking in the rearview mirror of my life, I realize how easy it is to find reasons to put off the experiences that call to us.
Maybe that's why Journey with Heart has been on my mind lately.
Not because everyone should come to Spain.
But because I know there are a few people reading this who have been quietly imagining themselves there. You've looked at the page. You've pictured the experience. You've wondered what it would feel like to say yes.
So, maybe the question isn't whether Spain is right for you.
Maybe the question is: how much distance do you place between yourself and the things that matter to you?
Registration for Journey with Heart closes tomorrow, July 3.
Whatever you decide, I hope you listen closely to the whispers beckoning you forward. ❤️

For every group trip we host, we spend a minimum of one year endeavoring to cultivate elevated and memorable group travel yoga experiences. Our October trip to Spain is no different - we began planning in fall 2025...the different hotels, on and off property meals, airport transportation, train transport, excursions, group bonding activities, yoga, and unforgettable moments that will make Journey with Heart a soulful and joyful experience.
But after eight years of curating and hosting global retreats, we've learned a somewhat surprising fact.
The moments our attendees talk about the most years later are rarely the ones we planned...
They're the heart-to-heart conversations that happen over community meals. Newfound friendships that form unexpectedly. The laughter that erupts during a poolside afternoon.
A feeling of being fully and unabashedly welcomed. The sweet realization that you've found your people.
None of these moments appear on the itinerary. Yet somehow, they become the most important part of the journey. And, it is also these moments that keep our retreat travelers coming back.
Registration for Journey with Heart closes July 3. We'd love for you to join in our circle. 🩵

Might be hard to believe, but one of our favorite FLOW stories begins with a moment of panic.
In 2019, we hosted our very first retreat as FLOW on a private island in Belize.
One morning, our group climbed aboard a boat headed to snorkel the Belize Barrier Reef. Everyone was so excited about a chance to snorkel and giddy with anticipation over we might see... until we discovered that two of our guests didn't know how to swim.
YIKES! Cue the retreat leader heart palpitations. 😳
Thankfully, our incredible local guides didn't miss a beat. They fitted our guests with life jackets, snorkel gear, a safety line, an improvised raft, and gently guided them through the crystal-clear water so they could experience the reef right alongside everyone else.
Everyone returned to the island at the end of the day happy-tired and smiling. We thought the day's experiences would be the highlight of the trip. Little did we know, that adventure out at the reef was only the beginning.
One of our guests happened to be a former swim instructor. Seeing the two's excitement and overhearing them say they wanted to learn how to swim, she offered to give them swimming lessons.
Every afternoon for the rest of the retreat, while the sun warmed the dock and the Caribbean gently lapped beneath it, they walked into the ocean and practiced together.
By the end of the week, our former non-swimmers weren't just more comfortable in the water. They discovered confidence they didn't know they had... and experiences that have lasted far beyond Belize.
That story has stayed with us for years because it perfectly captures what FLOW has always been about.
Not yoga. Not luxury accommodations. Not beautiful destinations. Not just an itinerary of activities and excursions.
All of those things matter, of course.
But what matters most is creating a community where people instinctively care of one another.
Where someone notices your needs and naturally offers a hand.
Where strangers become friends and friends become family.
Whether we're gathering on a tiny island in Belize or wandering the streets of Spain this fall, a journey of the heart is what we're really creating.
And if you ask us, that's the most unforgettable destination of all. ❤️
One of the most common things we hear from our former guests is how nice it feels to ** simply arrive**.
No coordinating transportation. No wondering where to eat or what to see. No trying to piece together an itinerary while hoping you don't miss something special. No logistics to figure out. No planning stress.
We do all of that.
What you get is the space to wander through Spain's rich history and culture, savor incredible meals, connect with new friends and old ones, spend time by the sea, and fully immerse yourself in the heart of the experience.
What happens when you say YES?
Take a look through the carousel and imagine yourself there with us. ❤️

One of the biggest misconceptions we hear about Yoga retreats is:
“I haven't been practicing Yoga long enough to go on a Yoga retreat.”
And honestly?
It doesn't matter...
At FLOW Yoga Retreats, each trip includes people who practice Yoga every day, people who only practice when they retreat with us, and people who are stepping onto a mat for the very first time.
Some guests come to every single class. (Looking at you, "Mama + Papa FLOW" ☺️)
Some skip half of them to chill, explore, journal, nap, or sit quietly by the ocean.
We've even had a couple folk that skipped all the Yoga to enjoy their other hobbies (e.g., photography).
All of it is welcome. This is your retreat. Do you.
Because for us, Yoga has never been about achieving the perfect pose or performing spirituality. It's not about posing for IG pics or magazine covers. Yoga is not even always done on a mat.
Yoga creates space to come home to yourself. Nothing more. Nothing less.
When Yoga first entered my life decades ago, it didn’t pave a path of change because I suddenly became more flexible or physically “good” at Yoga. Trust me on that one. No handstands. No arm balances. No bending to become a pretzel. Instead, Yoga offered a space to slowly, gently, help dissolve old stories I carried about myself and opened space for more wholeness, presence, breath, connection, and self-compassion.
That understanding became part of the heart of FLOW Yoga Retreats.
Our Yoga offerings are intentionally designed for all bodies, all levels, and all seasons of life — active when you want movement, restorative when you need softness, always invitational rather than performative. Maybe you do every pose in every class. Maybe you don't do any. It doesn't matter. You do you.
Journey with Heart is not about becoming someone different.
It’s about giving yourself permission to slow down enough to remember who you already are.
No yoga experience required.
No perfection required.
Just an open heart and a willingness to be exactly as you are.

Some of us geeky folk love science. And one area of science that is deeply interwoven with Yoga is Polyvagal Theory ... often referred to as *the science of connection.* 🩵
At the core of PVT is the understanding that our nervous systems are constantly receiving cues from the world around us — from environments, experiences, and especially from other people.
Those cues can move us into survival mode… or toward ease and relaxation.
Toward vigilant watching and self-protection… or toward openness, presence, trust, and connection.
Some teachers of polyvagal theory describe this nervous system response beautifully as the difference between the *drive to survive* and the *urge to merge.* (I think it was Deb Dana, but don't quote me on that.)
As human beings, we are wired for (and long for!) safe connection...
A warm smile.
A welcoming voice.
Shared laughter at a dinner table.
Feeling included.
Being cared for.
Moments of beauty and stillness.
Simply knowing someone is thinking about your needs and you.
When our nervous systems feel more balanced and supported, an entirely different world opens up. We can tune out some of the constant noise and distraction around us and tune back into the present moment. Into ourselves. Into joy. Into meaningful connection with others.
That is part of what we intentionally create through FLOW Yoga Retreats. But don't let the name fool you.... Yoga is not what the retreat is all about. Yoga is just one of many threads that weave together the experience. This retreat is really all about YOU.
Journey with Heart isn’t just about seeing Spain. It’s about experiencing it slowly, meaningfully, and together.
Imagine yourself....
Wandering through Madrid’s historic streets and lush Retiro Park. Sharing incredible meals, a flamenco dinner show, and conversations that linger long after the plates are cleared. Strolling through the ancient streets of Toledo, Segovia, Barcelona. Enjoying quiet coastal mornings and unhurried, intentional days in Costa Brava. Luxuriating in a boutique palace and relishing a picturesque Spanish farmhouse by the sea. Moving, resting, breathing, laughing, practicing Yoga, sitting quietly by the sea, and allowing yourself to be deeply cared for all along the way. (And we mean ALL along....from landing to departure - we've got you!)
Every last detail — from transportation and accommodations to meals and experiences — has been thoughtfully held so you can soften into the experience and fully arrive from the moment your flight lands.
Now more than ever, we all need spaces where we can reconnect with what makes us human: Community, presence, beauty, peace, belonging.
And mostly, one another. 💫

🩵 A love letter from Tra.... 🩵
There’s a reason safety matters so much to me.
I’m a q***r woman in my late 50s.
I came of age in a time where being openly gay could cost you belonging, opportunities, relationships, safety… sometimes everything. (IYKYK)
So like many GenX q***r kids, I learned early how to read a room.
How to assess risk.
How to make myself smaller when needed.
How to become hyper-aware of whether people around me were "for me" or "against me".
How to hide in a closet.
How to put on a mask and be someone I am not.
Add to that I was a latchkey kid with divorced parents by age 8. Let’s just say at a young age my nervous system earned a black belt in vigilance. 😅
Over time, though, that hyper-awareness transformed into something else:
Loving Care.
It made me deeply committed to creating spaces where people are warmly welcomed. It taught me how to navigate relationships in a way that people can soften instead of brace themselves.
That’s true in my Yoga classes.
It’s true in friendships.
It's almost always true with my family. 😏
And it’s absolutely true in the retreats Melissa and I curate through FLOW Yoga Retreats.
We intentionally choose destinations, partners, and experiences where LGBTQIA+ folks — and all marginalized people — will feel welcomed, respected, and safe.
Because everyone deserves the experience of exhaling.
Of not having to scan the room.
Of not wondering if they belong.
And in a moment that feels almost too on-the-nose today, as I compose this love letter I get a text from my CIS-gender, straight daughter who was accidentally locked in a closet at work. 😂
The irony is not lost on me.
Thankfully, her closet experience lasted about 10 minutes.
Mine lasted for over a decade.
This is precisely why I care so much about making sure no one has to hide who they are on our retreats. And Melissa is with me. With us.
Come as you are.
We mean that here. 🩵
