THE POWER OF SILENCE 🤫✨

Quiet naturally, we often assume that every question requires an answer and every statement deserves a response. But the truth is, everything does not require a response from you.

Sometimes, protecting your peace and preserving your sanity requires you to pause, listen, discern, and choose silence.

James 1:19 reminds us, “Let everyone be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to become angry.” And Proverbs 17:28 tells us that even a fool is considered wise when he keeps silent. In other words, wisdom knows when to speak, and wisdom also knows when to remain silent.

I’m learning to allow my silence to keep me from unnecessary entanglements, arguments, misunderstandings, and situations designed to rob me of my peace.

And let me tell you something, I’m practicing the silent treatment with a smile! 😊

Sometimes, all you need to say is:

“With all due respect, I don’t have a response to give.”

And then… BE QUIET. 🤫

You don't have to defend yourself.
You don't have to explain yourself.
You don't have to respond to everything you hear.

Sometimes your silence is your wisdom speaking.

Try it going forward. Protect your peace. Exercise discernment. And remember, you don't have to attend every argument you're invited to.

“If it’s going to be, it’s up to me!”🙌🏽

When it comes to our spiritual growth, we have WORK to do! We cannot do it in our own strength, we need the power and help of the Holy Spirit. But God will not do for us what He has given us the responsibility to do for ourselves.

When I first surrendered my life to the Lord, my father told me, “You must pray daily, read God’s Word, and remain in fellowship with believers by attending church.”

Nearly 40 years later, I’m STILL working on myself, by myself, for myself! 😂🙌🏽

Why? Because spiritual growth is a lifelong journey. I have to be consistent, determined, disciplined, and steadfast in doing my part while trusting God to provide the strength to keep going.

So today, I challenge YOU: Do the work! Pray. Read your Bible. Worship. Fellowship with believers. Obey God's Word. Examine yourself. Grow. Keep showing up!

As the Apostle Paul said:

“I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” — Philippians 3:14

Don’t give up on the person God is developing you to become. Keep pressing. Keep growing. Keep becoming. 💜

And remember: God will help you, but you’ve got to do your part!

TRUST GOD COMPLETELY. 🙏🏽

We often say, “I have faith in God. I trust Him.” But what happens when something tragic, troubling, or terminal comes your way?

What happens when you lose the job?
When the money gets tight?
When the plan you had suddenly changes?

I know what it feels like.

Losing my job taught me how to turn to God TOTALLY, not as my backup plan, but as my SAVIOR. Not trusting in a salary, but trusting in my SOURCE.

And now, I’m in a season of my life where I am allowing God to direct my steps completely, A to Z. I don't have to understand every step to obey the One who ordered them.

Just look at what He has done.

Wrapped Up In A Big Blanket of Prayer™ started as an IDEA. But when I surrendered it to God, that idea began unfolding into blankets, T-shirts, bandanas, a prayer journal, and so much more.

What I thought was an idea, God was revealing as part of His plan.

That is what happens when you trust God with your YES and surrender your plans to His purpose.

Proverbs 3:5-6 says, “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”

So today, I challenge YOU:

Trust God when you don't understand.
Trust God when you can't see the way.
Trust God when the door closes.
Trust God when the loss hurts.
Trust God when the answer is taking longer than you expected.

Your life does not have to make sense to you for God to be working through it.

Surrender your plans. Trust His process. Follow His direction.

Because when you trust God completely, you discover that His plan for your life is greater than anything you could have planned for yourself.

I’m walking it out, and I’m encouraging you to TRUST GOD A-Z! ❤️🙏🏽

Lord, thank You for blessing us to see another Sunday. Fill our hearts with Your presence, renew our strength, and guide our steps. Help us to worship You with grateful hearts and walk in Your purpose throughout this new week.

We trust You, we honor You, and we give You all the glory. In Jesus’ name, Amen! 🙏🏽✨
