LA Racing's Gabriel Carrasquillo readying for March Madness next weekend. Spent the day Saturday doing a little test and tune at the track. Despite all the pollen, Jamie Bennington did an excellent job prepping the track which produced some very encouraging numbers. Limited prep car clocked some great numbers and the open prep was in the ballpark. Looking forward to the big race and seeing our racing friends. See ya at the track!

As 2025 comes to a close, looking back, the year proved to be one of the most successful for LA Racing due to in large part from the support of Tom Rockwell. Thank you, Tom for all the support. Here's to 2026 and another year with the one of RC drag racing's winningest teams, Rockwell RC. See ya at the track!

LA Racing's Gabriel Carrasquillo takes the Outlaw Bronze at the 2025 Clash of the Titans!
Back from the 2025 Clash of the Titans, first thing we want to say is thank you to everyone involved and Shadyside Dragway for an absolutely epic RC drag race. With 66 Outlaw entries and a track that was nothing short of a well-maintained sticky billiard table, making it one of the quickest tracks in the country, this was no doubt going to be a great race. Thanks again and looking forward to 2026.
Our Dry Tire program got off to a slower than usual start on Friday with nothing really to write home about., but Gabe did figure the tune out and ran a 1.50 flat in testing Saturday morning. We were still looking for a little better consistency but now we had a racecar.
We made to the second round in both A & B when we ran into one of those alien holeshots and didn't have enough real estate to run him down. Second round in B a shock failure put us on the trailer and ended our day of DT racing.
Congrat's to our good friend, Tommy Burgess for his big win in Dry Tire. "The Janitor" took no prisoners and made a clean sweep in both A&B brackets collecting both the Gold and Silver payouts! WTG Tommy and well deserved!
Gabe tuned his way thru both A&B brackets in Outlaw and maintained a consistent running racecar. Raceday started with a 1.41 and would go sub 1.40's throughout the competition stopping the timers with a couple of 1.37's at 99 and change. Now in the semi's in both A&B, we made the decision to change to a new set of Excelerate RC tires which had performed flawlessly all day and we just got just a little behind on the power application with the new skins. We ran good but not quite good enough and out we went in both. S[ecial thanks to R1 Wurks for making the best damn RC dragcars on the planet. And a special shoutout to Tom Rockwell. Thanks.
Congratulations to Jeremiah Sweetwood on his Outlaw win. That was a hard-fought, well-deserved victory. Bravo!

Gabe preps for 2025 Clash of the Titans

Gabe is currently checking and re-checking everything on the cars to make sure they are race ready for the big show. All races start at the workbench. Chaos is now in the lineup for LA Racing. Gabe got creative and fabbed up some parts to make it work on the R1 chassis. We believe the aero of this body is superior to anything currently available. We'll be testing the Chaos in the near future to see if it is worthy of producing some big numbers. LA Racings Armageddon 2025 Recap.
Well, didn't quite go as planned however LA Racing's Gabriel Carrasquillo did make some great accolades at the event and collected some more much needed data.
It was a good turnout for Gary Rowes RCRA - RC Racing Association Armageddon race. Another hot one with temps in low 90's and the starting line was a sizzling 135 at race time. The launch pad basically turned into a mud hole with all the prep transfer and made it tricky to avoid an expensive starting line mistake. For the most part everyone made it down with little difficulty.
Outlaw testing went well. Gabe figured out the course out quickly and after 3 passes, the big R1 Wurks power put us deep in the 4's, posting a 1.45 which was quickest for the weekend. Swapped to the "B" car and ran a 1.47 pass right out of the trailer. We were in the hunt! However, a distraction caused LA Racing to be late for Big Dawg sign up by 9 minutes and we were out of the competition.
We were in for the Renegade comp but had only made one test pass at the first light of testing posting a 1.85. Gabe now under pressure and in usual LA Racing fashion, came thru clicking the beams with a 1.7238 for a new Armageddon Renegade track record during a bye run! Then a rendezvous with the wall early on in "A" bracket against Hot Rod put us out but we were still going in "B" until we ran into Joshua Bennington who was a buzz saw this weekend with Paul Broadway tuning. We knew we were going to have swing for the fence but got a little too greedy and he put us on the trailer. Josh cleaned house winning both "A" and "B" brackets!
Another great event by Gary Rowe and his RCRA - RC Racing Association! Congrats to Zach Buff on his Big Dawg win! And a special congrats to, 13-year-old, Joshua Bennington on his winner/runner-up win! Awesome and well deserved. Way to go kid!
