From Grease to pickles, bathrobes to peace and love, and everything in between—this year’s teams brought creativity, personality, and so much fun to the stage.

Thank you to everyone who participated, supported, and cheered us on throughout the night. And a big congratulations to our champions, the Blue Man Bundts from Nothing Bundt Cakes 💙

At the heart of the Adult Spelling Bee is something much bigger than the stage 🐝

This event exists to support the important work of Communities In Schools of Georgia in Marietta/Cobb County, Inc. —ensuring students have the resources, relationships, and support they need to succeed both in and out of the classroom.

We were honored to hear from Michelle Carter, Regional Director, who shared the mission and the real impact these programs have on students in our community. Her message was a powerful reminder of why we gather each year.

Because of the generosity of our attendees, sponsors, and supporters, funds raised from this event go directly toward sustaining and growing these programs.

Together, we are making a difference—one student at a time.

Under the lights of the Strand marquee, our teams came together in full costume—each one bringing their own energy, creativity, and enthusiasm to the Adult Spelling Bee.

It’s more than a competition—it’s a celebration of community, connection, and showing up in a big way.

One of the most anticipated moments of the night… the team entrances 🐝✨

Each team takes the stage with their own walk-on music, setting the tone before a single word is even spelled. It’s the grand reveal—when costumes debut, personalities shine, and the audience gets their first look at the creativity and humor each team brings to the Bee.

From themed music to over-the-top entrances, the energy in the theatre is electric. Teams make their way through the aisles, engaging the crowd, drawing laughs, and immediately pulling everyone into the spirit of the night.

It’s more than an entrance—it’s a performance. And every year, it sets the stage for an unforgettable evening.

Starting the night off right ✨

Our VIP pre-event on the 4th floor of the Strand set the tone for an incredible evening. Sponsors, community leaders, and teams gathered to enjoy great food from 1885 Grill - Acworth and desserts donated from Nothing Bundt Cakes before the competition kicked off.

With the rooftop open and views of the Marietta Square, it was the perfect backdrop to connect, celebrate, and get ready for the Bee 🐝

A very special thank you to this years Spell Word Master, Crossman 🐝

Lisa put in an incredible amount of time and creativity to build the word list for this years Adult Spelling Bee. From carefully balancing levels of difficulty to crafting thoughtful and often humorous sentences—sometimes even featuring past spellers and current participants—her work truly brought the competition to life.

From everyday words like “businesses” to crowd-stoppers like “hippopotomonstrosesquipedaliophobia,” she kept everyone on their toes.

We are so grateful for her dedication and the care she put into creating this years word list.

Talk about a tough job… not only do they have to make sure every word is spelled correctly, but they also have to pronounce some of the most challenging words we could throw at them!

Their focus, patience, and quick thinking kept the competition fair and fun all night long. We couldn’t do it without them 👏

and by night the one keeping our Adult Spelling Bee on track. Justin somehow manages the teams, the on-stage fun, and every twist in the competition—including those audience buy-backs—without missing a beat.
