While waiting on trees to arrive for our next saddle builds, I decided the shop’s newest old-timer deserved a little attention. 🤎

I picked up this drawdown stand at an estate sale, and he was definitely showing his age. A little stripping, fresh padding, new suede, and some TLC later—and he’s ready to go back to work.

There’s just something about bringing an old piece of saddle-making equipment back to life instead of replacing it with something new.

Can’t wait to put him into service this week. One more workhorse ready for the DS Saddlery shop. 🔨🐴

This saddle came into the shop with a blown-out seat and deteriorated foam. After a complete seat rebuild with new leather and fresh foam, it’s back to looking—and riding—the way it should.
