Weekend race report…

Since we are running two different endurance race series and both were scheduled for the same date … we decided to divide and conquer …

WRL Road America

We ran our E90 BMW #55 in GP2, we brought a couple of upgrades and the car continued to show more speed.

Saturday’s 8 hour race we qualified P3, during our pit stop, we were notified of a possible issue with the car, and boxed it for safety reasons. Luckily there was no issues, but lost time in the Pits so we finished in P3

Sunday’s race we shot straight to the front, one hour in, developed a mysterious misfire. After boxing multiple times do diagnose the issue and falling back to last in class, misfire went away..

We clawed our way back up to P3 with an hour to go, unfortunately we had the red flag with 30 mins to go, so we ran out of time. Ended P3, 4.5 seconds from P2 and 1 lap from the win

Saturday, our #14 and #85 continued to show progress under mixed conditions, and we were able to secure a p2 with the #14 and P3 with the #85

Sunday

Sunday’s race proved more challenging, with the #85 suffering an axle failure while running P3 and the #14 suffering a tire failure and dropping off the podium position only to regain it in the end and finishing P3

So we ended with 5 podiums out of 6!

Race results ….

After a superb start, we led race one in the 14 car for more than 2 thirds of the race, we suffered a tire failure, which in turn did damage to the ABS and power steering of the car. Our drivers fought hard and drove through the issues and finished 3rd on Saturday. On Sunday, we ran the car with no power steering thanks the the super strong Max Ocaranza and we were able to secure a 2nd third place position. What a drive!!!

On the 85 car, we ran a lower HP tune than all of the other cars in class due to a issue with the ECU, nonetheless we endured and were able to secure a P2 on Saturday and competed for the win on Sunday for most of the race, but were only be able to secure P2
