The practice of being thankful for what is valuable and meaningful to you - Gratitude.

Studies show that “when we express gratitude, our brain releases dopamine and serotonin (the two important neurotransmitters responsible for our EMOTIONS.” - They make us feel good! Enhancing our moods. Making us feel happy - from the inside.

Gratitude has the ability to elevate, energize, inspire, and transform.

….. cliche’ to say “count your blessings or stop and smell the roses”?
Though, how one looks at these phrases - is all about perspective.

I’m a firm believer that, "In the midst of it all" -there’s always something to be grateful for. Something to be learned. An opportunity for growth. A chance to become a better person.

There are health benefits in practicing gratitude, including:

*Reduced Stress: Focusing on positive emotions can help cope with stress and limit agression.

*Improved immunity: stress can compromise ones immune system & overall well being. As life happens, it’s so easy to become overwhelmed OR completely stressed out. Choosing to focus on the things you can control - will truly help with managing stress levels. In turn promoting better immune health.

*Lower risk of Mental Health Issues: Studies have shown that practicing gratituide helps lower the risk of depression as well as help manage anxiety.

Ways To Cultivate Gratefulness + Thankfulness:

*Try challenging yourself to think of "what in your life that you're grateful for".

List things that are going well in your life.
Write a list or use pictures ( like a vison board) call it- a Grateful for Board). You should place this somewhere in plain site that you’re able to look at everyday - as a constant reminder. If you are alive + breathing in this day and time - that’s a great place to start on the list.

*Spend time doing something that you enjoy.

*Think of what your body allowed you to do today.” (that’s a blessing)

*Talk to someone who brings you joy, loves, & encourages you!

*Protect your peace. (feel the vibes - they don’t lie)

*Limit Time Comparing Your Journey To Anyone Else’s. (we all started at Day 1)

*Be present. You Are Here. Enjoy the moment. (LIVE)

*Practice Mindfulness.

*Recite positive affirmations.

*Share The Love. When you feel the benefits of how practicing gratefulness & a shift in perspective has changed your life - share with others.

I know it’s so hard to recognize or even publicy enjoy positive moments when fear, uncertainty, pain & grief are weighing heavy. And it’s often times so much easier to focus on the bad, join the continuious negative conversations, or be sad. Ones health, happiness, joy, and peace - are worth fighting for!

Let’s do a Self - Care Exercise:
While sitting in a quiet space, close your eyes. Take a deep breathe. Then exhale slowly. Then Breathe Deeply Again. Exhale slowly. Continue to breathe deeply and exhale slowly. While doing so - think - I am inhaling LIFE - and Exhaling anything that is not giving me LIFE. I am exahaling negative thoughts, fear and negative conversations that have stripped me of joy, self hate, doubt and comparison. ——— And I am inhaling peace, postivity, a grateful perspective, self love, a healthier me, happiness, the will to focus on things I can control, and letting go of those things that I can not control. I will not suppress my feelings. Though I will not dwell. I acknowledge, I am aware, I embrace - ALL THAT IS - All that was - and I will prevail. #ICanDoThis
