The Peach State MTB Championship is this weekend! Georgia Cycling just released the list of student-athletes who qualified to compete at Kingston Downs. Congratulations to all the athletes!

We can't wait to see everyone this weekend for MTB Fest on Saturday and the Peach State MTB Championship on Sunday.

Leila Iovino - Senior Spotlight

The Cherokee Warriors are proud to recognize Leila, a dedicated 7-season team member since 6th grade! Her exceptional skills make her a force to be reckoned with on the downhills, and she approaches every race with unwavering determination.

Leila embodies the spirit of an athletic scholar, excelling on the race course and in the classroom. Her academic excellence has earned her the AP Scholar Award and the Rural and Small-Town Recognition Award. Beyond athletics and academics, Leila shines in Chorus and contributes to our school community through clubs such as Women in STEM, National Honors Society, Healthcare Occupational Students of America, and Friends Club.

Currently on the healthcare career pathway, Leila is gaining experience through the Northside Cherokee Internship and plans to pursue a nursing degree in college. We're excited to see her succeed in her future endeavors!

Senior Spotlight - Tyler Bramblett

The Cherokee Warriors are excited to recognize the unwavering dedication and achievements of team Co-Captain and 2023 Warrior of the Year Tyler Bramblett. Throughout high school, Tyler consistently strived for excellence with weighty AP level courses while maintaining a superb GPA. Across seven years with the mountain bike team, Tyler has demonstrated his unwavering perseverance, strong character, and leadership on the team and outside of it, such as being a councilman for Cherokee’s National Honors Society and a member of the Environmental Action Club and National English Honors Society.

Tyler embodies the Warrior spirit through his passions for mountain biking, music, and writing, which all serve as fantastic reminders to the breadth of his interests. HIs successes and his failures have been taken in stride allowing him to serve as a figure embodying growth and development. His contributions to the team over the past seven years will be well remembered and we hope that his journey on and off the trails will continue to be as exciting as those we have had with him.

Senior Spotlight - Aidan Diaz

The Cherokee Warriors are proud to celebrate Aidan's outstanding achievements and unwavering dedication. As a senior, Aidan has exemplified academic excellence, maintaining a rigorous course load as a dedicated AP student throughout his high school journey. His commitment extends beyond the classroom, exemplified by his active participation in the Environmental Action Club, the Boling Park Trail Cleaning Club, and the Mountain Bike Club.

Aidan’s leadership in community service, along with his role as the first Varsity Mountain Bike Rider in Cherokee’s history, underscores his pioneering spirit and athletic excellence. We are incredibly proud to call Aidan a Warrior and to recognize his remarkable contributions both academically and within our community. His perseverance, leadership, and passion embody the true spirit of Cherokee High School.

Team Picture Day Sneak Peek!

It’s more than just bikes and trails — it’s about community. One of the things that makes our high school mountain bike team so special is the incredible group of volunteer coaches who give their time, energy, and heart to support these riders.

From grandparents and step-parents to parents of current athletes, and even parents whose kids have long since graduated, this team is powered by people who care.

Thank you to every coach who shows up, cheers loud, and helps make this team a family.

Congratulations to Ian Zeller, a dedicated senior on the Cherokee Warriors Mountain Biking Team, for being named one of only eight high school seniors in the Cherokee County School District as a 2026 National Merit Scholarship Semifinalist.

Ian’s six seasons with the team exemplify his commitment, resilience, and leadership both on the trails and in the classroom. His achievement highlights that our riders are not only athletes but also scholars and role models. The Cherokee Warriors MTB team fosters character, perseverance, and excellence beyond biking skills.

Ian’s success proves that pushing limits on the trail translates to success in all areas of life. Let’s celebrate Ian and all our Warriors who ride hard, study harder, and strive for greatness every day.

Yesterday our team participated in the 70th anniversary Cherokee High School homecoming parade. Great to be part of the action and to represent the team. Thanks to everyone who came out and cheered us on.
