Simple & sweet memories from Up North I’m holding on to

This month I had the pleasure & honor of hiding in the woods to take engagement pictures of my brother & his now fiancé in Georgia! 🤩These 2 selflessly gave up their time to show me around Atlanta for a few days! I fell in love with the history, diversity, food & southern charm! Safe to say I’ll definitely be back.

On thursdays we wear jungle prints. 🐆(Minus one, she just fit the vibe)

Summer food is just prettier. 🌞Is it an adult thing to appreciate food presentation? Or just a creative person thing? Either way, I appreciate delicious & pretty food. ☺️ These are so favorites I’ve ordered or made lately!

There’s something about reading in the summer… especially romances! Am I right?

A few simple joys this weekend: Watching my peonies slowly open, laughing & spending time with my brother (see car wash drama), and catching the sunset. 🌸

💛 Coming with some realness. I never understood what anxiety felt like until this last year or so. For me I feel extremely irritable, overwhelmed & not my best self when I’m anxious. I typically hurt myself & others with my words. Some days are harder than others. But the mentality of one step in front of the other & letting go of what I can’t control helps. Today is National Museum Day! It’s a day near & dear to my heart. 5 years ago I interned in the exhibitions department at the Field Museum. My eyes were opened to the importance of preserving history, celebrating different cultures & the curating of art. It was an honor to work there. Every day I was in complete awe and humbled at the talent/care of the team & the greatness of the marble building standing for over 100 years. I enjoyed 1 too many chicago style Hot Dogs on my lunches from the truck in the park over looking the harbor. Museums are truly special places! I could go on & on. I encourage you to visit the Field in Chicago! 🦖

On this 80 degree day in May I’m so happy to own a car with AC 😂 I made my first big girl purchase this week and bought a new car! Cheers! 🎉

spittin’ truth ⬆️ Hope you’re hanging in there with this roller coaster of weather change lately. I feel like I’m a different person on the days the sun comes out & I don’t have to wear my winter coat. Like the weather I feel like I’m eager for change that makes my life feel lighter & brighter. The sun will come back eventually & the creative spark will come back eventually.
