ONLY. FOUR. TOURNAMENTS. LEFT!
It's been bittersweet to realize that this year we are writing the final chapter of the 12u Kennesaw Generals.
To see these 10 players grow into the fine young men they are has been a gift.
And we couldn't have asked for a more special group of boys, coaches, and families to go on this journey with. We'd do it all again in a heartbeat.
But there's still some business left to take care of!
The Generals will take some well-deserved rest this weekend before gearing up for the final stretch of the season including the upcoming Travelball Select National Championships and Perfect Game World Series.
And if the last two weekends are any indication, it's going to be a wild ride!

What do you do when someone says your team is just mediocre?
You battle.
You battle all the way to the championship.
That’s exactly what this group of amazing Kennesaw Generals did this past weekend.
Hunter, Littles, Dubee, Hap, Grant, Skyler, Chance, Jennings, James, and Jaxon.
All weekend they played games that were filled with doubles, triples, line drives, homeruns, lead-changes, strikeouts, diving catches, and just about everything else you can think of.
But there were no heroes or aces.
EVERYONE on the team contributed. Everyone stepped up when called upon to make the catch, throw the strike or get the hit.
And the championship? They won in an extra-innings thriller against a solid Georgia Bombers team in a game that had more action than you would find at any of the MLB stadiums.
So to all the haters, the doubters, the naysayers, and the dream-crushers.
We think there is something about this game that you’re missing.
About why we play this game.
About why we love this game.
It’s not about stats, or numbers, or being the ace or the hero.
It’s about giving 100% to your team and being part of something bigger than yourself.
Baseball brings out the best in you.
It doesn’t define you.
It’s something the band of brothers in this picture already know.
And that should make ALL Kennesaw Generals past and present very proud.

The Kennesaw Generals (24-9-2) played a pair of polar opposite games on Saturday afternoon. They won their first game by the score of 3-2 in a nail-biter that came down to the last couple of innings and then took an 11-1 run-rule victory in their second game. The pair of wins earned the Generals the #1 seed in Sunday’s bracket play of the PBR May Slugfest. By virtue of the top seed, the Generals get a first round bye and will advance directly to the semi-finals where they will await the winner of the All-American Arsenal vs. Base Knox Royals. The game is slated for a 2:00 pm start with the championship game scheduled immediately following around 4:00 pm.
Game 1 vs. Service Baseball Force Recon
In the first game of the day, the Generals took on Service Baseball Force Recon in a good ole fashion pitchers duel. Service jumped on General’s starter James Lowe (3-4, 4.63) for a lead-off single and he was balked to 2nd base. Service’s two-hole batter then blooped a single to left, but the runner at 2nd could not advance. A hit batter then loaded the bases with no one out. A strikeout then followed to leave the bases loaded with one out now, but a wild pitch two pitches later scored a run. The next batter then bunted home and Service tried to score on a safety squeeze, but Lowe swiftly fielded the ball and flipped to Skyler Lee at home to record the second out of the inning on a fielder’s choice. Lowe then struck out the final out of the inning pitching out of a huge jam by allowing just one run.
In the bottom of the 1st, the Generals looked to be off to a fast start when Ryan Trout led things off with a single to right field. However, Trout was caught trying to steal second. The caught stealing proved to be costly as two pitches later Hunter Duchaj blasted his third home run of the season over the right field fence to tie the game at one. That was the only run the Generals could muster in the 1st.
Neither team would score in the 2nd inning. In the top of the 3rd, Service drew a one out walk. A second balk of the game sent him to second and the next batter doubled him home to give them a 2-1 lead. Lowe would strike out the next to batters to limit any further damage. The Generals would get a one out double by Grant Travelstead, but they would strand him on the bases as back to back pop ups ended the inning.
Lowe pitched a perfect 4th inning as he struck out the side and recorded his ninth, tenth, and eleventh strikeouts of the game, but it would be his final inning of work as his pitch count reached a season high 87 pitches. The Generals also went in order in the 4th.
Jordan Littles (4-0, 3.00) relieved Lowe in the top of the 5th. He pitched around a one out single and a walk by getting a fly out to right and a grounder to second baseman Jennings Allen to end the threat and keep the score at 2-1.
In the bottom of the 5th, the Generals mounted their comeback. Lowe singled to center to start the inning. He advanced to 2nd when Jaxon Bowen sent a grounder to short for the first out of the inning. Littles was then hit by the pitch to put runners at 1st and 2nd with one out. Skyler Lee then hit another grounder to short. This time Service fielded and recorded the force at 2nd for the second out, but the relay to first was not fast enough to nab Lee for the double play and extended the inning. That brought Chance Williams to the plate. Chance roped a 1-0 pitch to right that landed just out of the reach of Service’s left fielder, who then misplayed the ball and let it by him. Lowe scored on the single and Lee raced around from first to score the go ahead run as Williams went all the way to 3rd. Williams was stranded at 3rd when the next batter popped out, but the damage was already done and the Generals now led 3-2.
Littles continued on the mound in the top of the 6th. He ran the count full on the lead-off batter and dropped a beautiful 3-2 curve over the plate to start the inning with a strikeout looking. He then fanned the next to batters swinging to close out the game and earn his fourth win of the season.
“What a game that was to start. Super proud of our kids to battle. James dominated with the 11 K’s and Littles came in and threw some big pitches to close the game out. And what a huge hit by Chance, he’s swinging the bat well lately and that was perfect timing.” head coach Joey Williams stated following the game.
Game 2 vs. Dingers Elite 12u
The second game of the day turned out to be much easier than game one. Generals starting pitcher Hunter Duchaj (1-1, 4.08) set the Dingers down in order in the top of the 1st inning. In the bottom of the inning, Duchaj helped himself when he sent a one out triple to right field. He immediately scored on a sacrifice fly by Jordan Sanders. Lowe followed Sanders with a double to right center and he came around to score when Jaxon Bowen’s hard grounder was booted by the Dingers for an early 2-0 lead.
The Dingers touched Duchaj for a single run in the top of the 2nd when back to back singles were followed by a wild pitch to cut the lead to 2-1. The Generals failed to score in the bottom of the inning.
The Dingers manged a one out single in the top of the 3rd, but Duchaj induced a grounder to short to end the inning. Kennesaw busted the game open in the bottom of the 3rd. Trout started the inning with a walk and he was followed by singles from Duchaj, Sanders, and Lowe which made the score 5-1. Jordan Littles then blasted a three run home run over the right centerfield walk, his first of the season, to make the score 8-1 Kennesaw. The Generals were not done there though, as Skyler Lee tripled down the left field line. The hero from game one, Chance Williams, then singled to left to plate Lee. Williams later scored when Grant Travelstead reached on a Dingers error to make the score 11-1 after three.
Duchaj then retired the side in order in the top of the 4th as he racked up a pair of strikeouts. In the bottom of the inning, the Generals needed just a single run to involke the 10 run rule after four. Trout started the inning with a single to left. He stole 2nd and 3rd and came around to score one batter later when Sanders singled to left to end the game.
“It was a good day and nice to see us handle our business quickly in this game. We kept our opponents to low run totals these three games and that lets us have the bye and the one seed tomorrow. We have everything set up for tomorrow just how we want it, now we have to come ready to play” stated Coach Williams following the game.
The Generals will be back in action tomorrow at 2pm and fans can catch all the action live on the teams Gamechanger page.
Lowe, Littles, And Williams Lead Generals To Pair Of Wins The Kennesaw Generals (24-9-2) played a pair of polar opposite games on Saturday afternoon. The Kennesaw Generals (22-9-2) got off to another slow start on Friday evening as they opened up play in the PBR May Slugfest Tournament in Emerson, Ga, but a nine-run 3rd inning overwhelmed the GBSA Rays and they went on to an 11-3 victory.
The Rays, however, did get off to a fast start. In to top of the first, their lead-off batter tagged starting pitcher Jordan Sanders (2-0, 3.69) with a single down the third baseline. He advanced to 2nd when it appeared that Sanders had picked him off, but he beat a relay throw from first base to end up safe at 2nd. The next batter drew a walk and the pair pulled off a double steal to put runners at 2nd and 3rd with no outs. Sanders looked like he might wiggle out of trouble when he struck out the next two batters, but a single to left plated both runners and gave the Rays a 2-0 lead after the top of the 1st.
In the bottom of the inning, Sanders reached when his routine grounder to 2nd was booted for an error. He stole 2nd and went to 3rd on a wild pitch. He then scored when James Lowe reached on a second error as the Rays right fielder dropped his fly ball. Lowe was stranded at second as a strikeout ended the inning.
Sanders set the Rays down in order in the top of the 2nd. Kennesaw would then tie the game in the bottom half of the inning. Chance Williams lined a single to center with one out. The ball landed in front of the Rays centerfielder who then proceeded to misplay it and allow it to roll all the way to the fence. Williams raced around to 3rd on the two-base error. He would later score on a wild pitch to make it 2-2.
GBSA reached Sanders for another run in the top of the 3rd. A lead-off single followed by a pair of stolen bases put a runner on 3rd before the Generals could record any outs. A strikeout later was followed by another single to give the Rays the 3-2 lead.
The Generals offense finally turned things on in the bottom of the 3rd. Ryan Trout got things rolling when he lead-off with a single to center. He stole 2nd and went to 3rd on a wild pitch. He would score to tie the game on a triple down the right-field line by Hap Flemming. Flemming came around to score one out later when Lowe doubled to right-center. A walk to Jaxon Bowen and Grant Travelstead reaching on an error gave the Generals a pair of runners for Skyler Lee to double home with two outs in the inning. Lee would score when Jennings Allen reached on an error. Allen stole 2nd and then scored on a Hunter Duchaj single. Duchaj stole 2nd and 3rd and he came around to score when Trout reached on another Rays error. Trout stole 2nd and went to 3rd on a wild pitch and then score when Flemming added a double to his earlier triple in the inning. All in all, the Generals had plated nine runs when the dust settled and down led by the score of 11-3.
Williams (1-1, 3.95) relieved Sanders in the top of the 4th. A one-out walk advanced to second on an errant pick-off throw and a stolen base sent the runner to 3rd. Williams however settled and struck out the next batter and got the final out on a grounder to short.
The Generals went in order in the bottom of the 4th. The Rays again threatened in the top of the 5th. A lead-off walk and an error on a comebacker to the mound gave the Rays a pair of runners. Kennesaw escaped any damage as the Generals got a strike them out, throw them out, double play to record the first two outs. Another strikeout ended the game and gave the Generals a run-rule victory as they led by eight runs after five innings.
“Nice to get a win to start the weekend off. We have to find a way to get a little faster start than we have the past couple of weeks. The better the competition the harder its going to be to come back and win ball games. Overall it was just kind of a sloppy game with them making something like eight errors and I know we had five ourselves, so we will look to play a little cleaner tomorrow to have a shot at playing on Sunday.” stated Associate Head Coach Randall Trout following the game.
The Generals will be back in action on Saturday afternoon as they take on Service Baseball Force Recon at 1:00 pm and will play Dingers Elite at 5:00 pm. Fans of the Generals can follow all the action live on the team’s official GameChanger page.

The Kennesaw Generals (21-9-2) suffered an unexpected early exit from the PBR State Championship Tournament over the weekend. The Generals were bounced from the event when they suffered a 7-4 loss to Titans Blue, who they had previously defeated twice this year.
Kennesaw starting pitcher James Lowe (3-4, 4.97) started the game strong in the top of the 1st when he struck out the first two batters. A single and a walk followed, however, giving the Titans an early threat. After the Titans pulled off a double steal Lowe induced a foul out to 1st baseman Jaxon Bowen to end the inning without any damage.
The Generals went in order in their half of the inning. The Titans’ wasted no time getting back to work on offense in the top of the 2nd. A lead-off double and a single put the Titans on the board just three pitches into the inning. The second batter of the inning would come around to score after a wild pick off attempt advanced him to 2nd base. He stole 3rd and then scored on a wild pitch to make it 2-0 heading to the bottom of the 2nd.
Kennesaw again went without a base runner in the bottom of the inning. In the top of the 3rd, Hap Flemming (4-0, 3.93) relieved Lowe, but the Titans already had some offensive momentum on their side. Their lead-off batter singled and stole second. After a strikeout and a walk left runners at 1st and 2nd, another single scored a run. On the hit to center, the ball was thrown away as the Generals missed the cutoff man and allowed the other runner to score on the play as well making the score 4-0 Titans. Flemming limited any further damage by getting a flyout and a strikeout to end the inning.
The Generals could not muster a runner in the bottom of the 3rd inning as the Titans hurler had a perfect game going now halfway through. Flemming escaped any damage in the top of the 4th when he picked a runner off second base who had doubled right before with two outs. The pickoff sent the Generals back on offense, but the Titans set them down in order to keep the perfect game going.
Things started to get hectic in the 5th frame for both teams. For the Titans, a one out walk started things. That walk was followed by a single and a double and a balk to go along with a sacrifice fly as the Titans extended their lead to 7-0.
Jordan Sanders finally broke up the perfect game and no hit bid in the bottom of the 5th with a solid line drive single to right centerfield. He stole second and went to third when Lowe singled to right field. A strikeout followed, but a walk to Jordan Littles loaded the bases. Jaxon Bowen then blasted a double to right center to score both Sanders and Lowe and send Littles to 3rd. Littles crossed the plate a few pitches later on a wild pitch to cut the score to 7-3. Lee followed the wild pitch with a double of his own plating Bowen. Hunter Duchaj courtesy ran for Lee (who was catching) and stole 3rd, but a strikeout and a ground out to 2nd ended the inning with the score now 7-4.
The Titans tried to extend their lead in the 6th and final inning as Jennings Allen (1-0, 3.27) relieved Flemming. Allen got the first batter to foul out on the first pitch of the inning but gave up a double to the next batter. A ground ball single to center was fielded and fired home and the batter went to second to give the Titans runners at 2nd and 3rd with just one out. The Generals pulled their infield in to shut off any further runs and the move paid off. The next batter grounded to 2nd baseman Littles who fired home to Lee at the plate to nail the runner from third. On the play, the runner from 2nd headed to third and the batter made the turn and headed to 2nd. Lee alertly zipped the ball to Ryan Trout at shortstop. Trout had the runner hung up between 1st and 2nd and began chasing him back to the bag at first all the while keeping an eye on the runner who was now at 3rd base. When that runner broke for home, Trout quickly turned his attention to that runner and ran at him until he committed to home where he too fired to Lee and Lee made the tag for the second out at the plate and the third out of the inning to keep the score 7-4.
The Generals tried to mount a comeback in the bottom of the 6th. Flemming started the inning off by drawing a walk. A strikeout followed for the first out. Trout then sent a sharp grounder up the middle that looked destined for a hit, but with the shortstop playing up the middle for the double play possibility, he made a great diving stop and flipped to 2nd for the fielder’s choice and to give the Titans two outs. The game then ended on another fielder’s choice and sent the Generals home early.
“I mean, you really have to tip your hat to the Titans today. They just out hit and outplayed us in this game. Their pitcher was outstanding for the first four innings and I think he got a little tired there in the 5th and it was just too late for us to get all the way back into the game.” stated Coach Trout following the defeat. “We did a lot of things right today like that defensive play there in the top of the 6th. We work on plays like that every week in practice and we executed perfectly today, so we just have to keep grinding and be ready to play next weekend.” continued Coach Trout
The Generals will be back in action at Lakepoint Sports Complex as they participate in their 9th tournament of the spring season. Kennesaw was originally scheduled to be off, but with the rainout last weekend they will play a make-up tournament over the Mother’s Day weekend. Fans of the Generals should check back later this week for a preview of the upcoming tournament.

The Kennesaw Generals (21-8-2) won both of their pool games on Saturday afternoon at the PRB State Championships being played at the Lakepoint Sports Complex in Emerson, Ga. Kennesaw will advance as an at large bid after going 2-0-1 in pool play. They now must await their quarterfinal opponent, which will not be determined until pool play is finished on Sunday morning. The Generals should finish as the #4 seed and will play at noon on Sunday.
Game 1 vs. Team Elite Sluggers Manton
In game one, the Generals were visitors and jumped on Team Elite early with three runs. Ryan Trout and Jordan Sanders both walked to start the game. Trout stole second and scored on back to back wild pitches. Sanders scored on a James Lowe triple. Lowe was caught stealing home, but later in the inning Jordan Littles walked, went to second on a wild pickoff attempt and came around to score on a pair of wild pitches of his own to make it 3-o as the teams headed to the bottom of the 1st.
The Sluggers battled back in the bottom of the 1st to tie the game off Generals starter Jaxon Bowen (0-0, 10.00). A pair of walks, a dropped fly ball in the outfield and a single helped the Sluggers tie the game, but a line drive back to Bowen that he snagged and fired to second for a double play kept the game at 3-3.
The Sluggers then took a brief lead in the bottom of the 2nd after the Generals failed to score in the top of the inning. A lead-off walk, a single and an error put a runner at 3rd when Bowen struck out a Sluggers batter with a breaking ball in the dirt. On the throw to first to record the out, the runner raced home for a 4-3 lead.
The Generals tied it at four in the top of the 3rd. Sanders reached on a two walk and stole second before Lowe doubled to right to score him. A strikeout ended the inning. Team Elite did not score in the bottom of the 3rd, as Sanders (1-0, 5.43) relieved Bowen and pitched around a one out walk.
The Generals busted the game open in the top of the 4th. Bowen got things started with a one out single. Skyler Lee followed with a walk. Then Chance Williams plated Bowen with a single down the 3rd base line. Lee would then come around to score on a passed ball three pitches later and Williams scored on a RBI groundout by Grant Travelstead which made the score 7-4 Generals.
Sanders set the Sluggers down in order in the bottom of the 4th with the help of his second pick off of the game. The Generals then put the game away in the top of the 5th. The Generals plated nine runs in the inning. Kennesaw got singles from Jennings Allen, Trout, Sanders, Hunter Duchaj, Bowen, and Williams in the inning. They also received a double by Littles and a solo home Run from Lowe. The homer by Lowe was his 3rd extra base hit of the game leaving him just a single shy of hitting for the cycle as he had tripled in his first at bat, doubled in his second at bat and homered in the third at bat.
Sanders then struck out the side in the bottom of the 5th to give the Generals the run rule victory. The final score was 16-4.
“James is just a hitting machine, I know it’s not, but pretty much feels like it’s automatic for him up there” stated Head Coach Joey Williams after the game. “It was good for us to face some adversity there early and see us fight back and take care of business toward the end. Dubee (Jordan Sanders) threw the ball great and gave us some big innings today.” continued Coach Williams.
Game 2 vs. Norcross Blue Devils
The Generals wasted no time jumping on the board in the second game of the day. James Lowe continued his hitting onslaught when he hit a two out double down the left field line. He then advanced to 3rd on a wild pitch and was balked home to make it 1-0 as the teams went to the bottom of the first.
Grant Travelstead (2-1, 4.70) drew the start against the Norcross Blue Devils and blanked them through the first three innings. In the top of the 2nd, Kennesaw went back to work on offense. In the inning, Jordan Littles reached on a pop fly that three infielders converged on near the pitchers mound, but no one caught. That coupled with walks to Jaxon Bowen and Chance Williams along with a double by Travelstead and a single single by Jennings Allen plated four and gave the Generals a commanding 5-0 lead.
The Generals went quietly in the 3rd, but in the top of the 4th they scored two more runs when Bowen walked, went to 2nd on a groundout, 3rd on a wild pitch, and then scored on a passed ball. In almost the same fashion, Travelstead walked, went to 2nd on a stolen base, 3rd on a passed ball, and then he scored on a wild pitch. That made the score 7-0 Generals heading to the bottom of the 4th.
Norcross put their first run of the game on the board in the bottom of the inning. A lead-off single came around to score one out later on a double, but the lone run is all they could manage as Travelstead shut the door with a strikeout and a grounder to 3rd.
In the 5th, the Generals responded with three more runs. Allen led the inning off with a single, Ryan Trout drew a walk, Sanders blated a ground rule double over the center fielders head, and Lowe recorded his fifth hit of the day to make the score 10-1 Generals.
Travelstead ran into a little trouble in the bottom of the 5th as he pitched deeper into the game that he has all season. He hit the lead-off batter, recorded an out on a sac bunt, but then gave up a two run home run on a 3-2 count after the ball hit the top of the fence in center and bounced over for the two run homer. Travelstead was then lifted in favor of Allen (1-0, 3.86) to finish the game. Allen induced a grounder to short and got a pop out to second to end the game as time expired.
“The offense was much better today and I can’t say enough about the job that Grant did on the mound today. We didn’t find the right time to get him into a game during our last tournament, but he showed again why he is a guy that we can count on. He just got a little tired there at the end, but it was an outstanding effort on his part” stated Coach Trout after the nightcap.
The Generals will be back in action tomorrow at noon when they will be one of six teams competing for the PBR State Championship. Fans of the Generals can follow all the action live on the teams GameChanger page.
