Aubree’s new motor is coming along nicely. Should be mounted soon. Her new seat starts getting made next XC week. Hopefully we have her ready to go for the October 3rd Frostbuster Qualifier. I know Twin Gorilla Graphics has to get her wrapped up before then also. Thank you BBT MX for the power and Lou Matteson for getting it set up for her!!

Finally back at Talladega for Friday Night racing!!! Aubree starting last unfortunately in Heat 2 for her class so she’ll have some cars to pass. Liam starts 2nd in Box Stock and 1st in 450 Young Guns. Fun being back out here tonight. Glad to get it in before the rain comes in this weekend.

What a weekend at 221 Speedway!
We made the trip for the next stop of the Ultimate Outlaw Kart Series. While this wasn’t a series points race, it gave us a great opportunity to learn a new track and gain some valuable experience. Thankfully, we were able to get both feature races completed just before the rain moved in.
The day started strong with Liam Waters qualifying on the pole in Box Stock and 2nd in Young Guns with a 9.882-second lap. We knew it was going to be a fast night.
In the Young Guns feature, Liam started 2nd but struggled to find the balance he needed. He fought hard for all 20 laps and brought home a respectable 4th-place finish.
The Box Stock feature was one we’ll remember for a long time. Starting from the pole, Liam lost the lead on the initial start as the outside front row got a great jump. The two battled side-by-side and nose-to-tail for all 20 laps. Around lap 8, the rain began falling, making the track even more challenging. On the final lap, Liam made his move, slid underneath the leader, and drove away with the WIN! 🏁
To top it all off, he took home one of the coolest trophies we’ve ever received—a custom skim board/surfboard!
Aubree Waters started 4th in her feature and never quit pushing. Since her Jr. Wing class was removed for the event, we had to borrow a motor and make the best of the situation. We tried to keep both karts set up similarly, but it just wasn’t the right combination. Even so, Aubree drove hard, gained valuable experience, and gave it everything she had. We’re incredibly proud of her effort and determination.

Having a decent season this year. Lots of rainouts unfortunately but makeups are in the horizon. Kids are running good at Talladega Raceway Park. Doing great in their debut season with the Ultimate Outlaw Kart Series. Lots of races coming up in July and visiting a new track 221 Speedway in Wrens, Ga., later this month. Looks to be a great race, hopefully some of our local racers make the trek out.
Recap from yesterday.
Had our ups and downs yesterday. We’ve enjoyed running this Ultimate Outlaw Kart Series so far and as racing is, it doesn’t always go your way. New track came with its learning curves. I was off on the initial gear for box stock so we were off on RPMs a good bit. The show went fast, so trying to make changes while getting him ready for his next class was rough. In box stock a bolt in his gear hub ended up getting stripped out causing it to come loose. It’s happens, lots of use over time. New part is already ordered.
In Jr Wing Liam ran Aubree’s ride while she handled her horse. Unfortunately the right rear hub ended up sliding in again and popped the tire. We were a little high on gear. Didn’t have another RR so that ended that class. Need to figure out why the tires doing that.
Young Guns however was different. After getting rained out at Talladega Raceway Park having only made a handful of laps on a bigger track he got his laps in this race. We were able to diagnose and fix a throttle issue early with some help from the SR1 crew. Learned a bit more about these motors. Liam did great and you could see him trying different lines and entries. His arms were like Jello afterwards. Cody Overton gave him some workout tips to strengthen and Condition. Got some work to do before next Fridays race at Dega. Posted some videos to enjoy! Thank you to Infinite Games for helping these kids this year!
