Thereâs a reason deadlifts keep showing up in our programming.
Theyâre not just about seeing how much weight you can pull off the floor.
A strong hinge builds your glutes and hamstrings.
It challenges your grip and core.
It teaches you to create force through your hips.
And it builds the kind of strength that carries over far beyond the gym.
Picking something heavy up off the ground is also one of the most basic things we ask our bodies to do.
The goal isnât for everyone to deadlift the same weightâor even use the exact same variation.
The goal is to learn the pattern, progressively load it, and get stronger at it over time.
Different bodies. Different loads. Different starting points.
Same goal: build a stronger, more capable body.
Thatâs why we deadlift. đȘ

Thinking about competing at the Impact Initiative Team Event? đ
Weâve already had some Route 3 athletes interested, and one of the biggest questions is:
RX or Scaled?
So I broke down all 3 workouts + the floater, including the menâs and womenâs standards for each division, to make it a little easier to see exactly what youâre signing up for. âĄïž
And hereâs the biggest thing I want you to remember:
Choosing Scaled doesnât mean youâre a beginner.
The goal is to choose the division that allows you to experience the workouts the way theyâre intended â challenging, fast-moving and competitive â without one load or movement becoming such a limiter that it completely changes the workout.
When deciding, look at the entire event, not just the one workout that plays to your strengths.
Can you handle the RX deadlift comfortably under fatigue?
Can you consistently perform T2B?
Can you keep moving with the RX dumbbells â especially when you get to the double DB work?
Can your whole team meet those demands?
If yes, RX may be the right challenge.
If not, Scaled gives you the opportunity to push hard, compete and have a great experience without spending the day fighting weights or movements that are above your current capacity.
Thereâs no prize for choosing the wrong division. Thereâs a lot to be gained from choosing the one that lets you compete well.
Route 3 crew â if youâre interested in putting a team together but arenât sure which division you belong in, talk to one of us. Weâll help you figure it out. đȘ
And if youâre looking for teammates, drop a đââïž or đââïž below so we can start connecting people.

Meet Coach Brittany đđȘ
If youâve taken one of Brittanyâs classes, you already know: the energy is coming whether youâre ready for it or not. đ
But behind the dancing, caffeine and big personality is a coach who genuinely loves watching people realize theyâre capable of more than they thought.
Brittanyâs philosophy is pretty simple:
Train for longevity, not size.
Get stronger so you can do more.
Build confidence in what your body can handle.
Have the energy to show up for the people you love.
And build a body that keeps you moving at 60, 70, 80 and beyond.
Itâs also exactly what we want Route 3 to be â a place where you can walk in at any age, any fitness level and any starting point and know thereâs a place for you.
And if something doesnât work for your body? Brittany will have an alternative ready.
Weâre lucky to have her on the Route 3 team. đ©”
If youâve taken a class with Brittany, drop your favorite Brittany memory, or moment below. đ

New cycle. New training structure. Same goal: keep getting stronger, fitter and more capable. đȘ
One of the things I never want our programming to become is random workouts just for the sake of making you tired.
Every day should have a purpose, and this next cycle makes those purposes even clearer.
Weâre shifting back to 3 total-body strength days each week, while continuing to develop your speed, power, aerobic capacity, muscular endurance, core strength and overall athleticism throughout the rest of the week.
Some days we want you lifting HEAVY.
Some days we want you moving FAST.
Some days we want you finding a pace you can sustain.
And yes⊠some Saturdays we just want you sweat and have a little fun with friends.
You donât have to decide what your body needs each day.
Just show up ready to train. Weâll take care of the rest.
Whoâs ready for the next cycle? đ

MEET YOUR COACH: CRYSTAL đȘđ©”
If youâve taken a class with Crystal, you already know: there will probably be crazy leggings, good music, a kettlebell somewhere nearby⊠and she will notice when youâre getting stronger.
Crystal has been part of Route 3 for four years, and one of the things that makes her such a great coach is how genuinely excited she gets about the wins that can be easy to overlook.
The first time you nail an exercise.
A new PR.
A faster time on the bike or ERG.
Using a weight you never thought you could.
Because progress isnât only about the huge milestones. Itâs all those little wins stacked together.
And Crystal wants every person she coaches to leave feeling recognized, empowered, and a little stronger than when they walked in.
Swipe through to get to know Crystal, including her surprising college background, her love of kettlebells, and the exercise she would probably be perfectly happy never seeing again. đ
