Happy 42nd birthday to former Georgia standout running back Kregg Lumpkin...
Although often injured, while constantly competing with a full stable of backs at Georgia from 2003 to 2007, Lumpkin still managed to rush for 1,700 yards, make 38 receptions, and score 17 touchdowns for his Bulldog career.

Happy 83rd birthday to Barry Wilson—a standout on offense and defense for Georgia from 1962 to 1964, an All-SEC honoree, team captain of Coach Dooley’s first squad… and that’s just scratching the surface.

Once a 145-pound, fourth-string linebacker as a senior in high school, Cook’s extraordinary efforts resulted in the impossible happening in 2011—appearing in a game as a member of the Georgia Bulldogs.

Considered one of the nation’s top quarterback prospects coming out of Cairo High School in 1985, Hester was Georgia’s primary punter from 1987 to 1989.

One of UGA's all-time top "net" punters, Broadway was a part of three Bulldog teams (1980-1982)—all of which won an SEC title—that achieved a 33-3 combined record.

The late, great Larry Rakestraw, Georgia’s record-breaking quarterback from 1961 to 1963, was born on this date 84 years ago in 1942.
In a 31-14 win over Miami played in the Orange Bowl on a Friday night in 1963, Rakestraw completed 25 of 38 passes for 407 yards, breaking the then-NCAA record for passing yards by an individual in a single game set by Stanford’s Dick Norman (401). It would be another 28 years before a Georgia player passed for just 300 yards in a single game.
Rakestraw passed away in 2019 at the age of 77.
