Ask the trainer? (see post) please comment !! I would like to hear your thoughts!!

Comment: I see it all the time lol, trainers that have clients that look the same or worse after 4 years… I want to say something but I just be minding my business

Daryl Madison: I have been training for over 15 years and have hundreds of before and after success stories but I also have been training people for years who refuse to eat better or do what exercises I ask them to do on the days they are not with me.

We are not parents and can’t make people do anything. Usually 4 out of ten people who hire a trainer has success not “necessarily “ because of bad training but because people are not fully committed and don’t have the discipline. Just because you pay me doesn’t mean you are going to have success or do everything I ask. It’s not my job to make you do it but point you in the right direction. There are so many other things involved. It may be the trainer it may be the client.

So unless you know all the context of their training relationship it’s best to do as you did and mind your business ,

Question 2 : so as a trainer, do you continue to accept payment? Do you change the routine? Or do you express that the help they need is outside your ability??

Daryl Madison Answer:
Great question. I do continue to accept payment because I do what I have been trained to do to the best of my ability. Again, it’s my job to “ show and tell them what to do” . Can’t force them however I do continually remind them of why they are not reaching their goals. Usually, many times people although not getting results will continue for many reasons (see below). At the end of the day if I do my part and you don’t do yours I have no problem taking your money particularly if I continually remind you why it’s not working and what’s needed to correct. I would much rather add everyone to my wall of success stories but that’s not realistic.

1. Some people feel doing something is better than nothing ( there is some truth and some fallacy to this)

2. Many times the relationship with the trainer becomes more than just training and the client sees you as a good friend and doesn’t want to terminate the relationship

3. The money is not coming from them but their spouse/health insurance/parents, etc.. so it’s not high priority to do what you ask since it’s not coming from their pocket.

These are just a few but there are many more

When it comes to exercise many middle age women make the mistake of believing strength training is for bodybuilders. Strength training is for everyone and becomes increasingly more important as you age.
The consequences are loss of strength, increased high blood pressure, increased risk of falling, failure to maintain healthy bones and joints, etc. Instead middle age women should strength train at least twice a week. You don’t have to start lifting heavy weights. Your goal could be simple as maintaining your present strength.

When it comes to exercise many middle age women make the mistake believing it (exercise) is the best way to lose weight. It’s a mistake because although there is plenty of evidence indicating they can lose weight by being physically active “only” it is one of the hardest ways to go about it.

The consequence is a lot of vigorous, intense exercise with very slow results before they realize losing weight with only exercise is extremely difficult. The best way to lose weight is by combining a nutritious low calorie diet plan and regular physical exercise.

When it comes to flabby arms, particularly the jiggly area at the back of the upper arm many busy middle age women make the mistake of believing there is nothing can be done to prevent it. That, their days of toned, defined arms are over. This is a mistake because there are things which can prevent or enhance its appearance.
Consequently, they just accept that’s the way it is and walk around self- conscious with unattractive arms feeling uncomfortable wearing short sleeve shirts or going to the beach. You can fix bat- turkey/jiggly underarms with the right diet and exercises which can slim down, strengthen and tone that area to help get rid of the flab.
You must focus on exercises that work that particular group of muscles using weight heavy enough to make a difference. For fat burning, you’ll also need to include plenty of cardio into your regular exercise routine. Dietary changes such as high protein, plenty of vegetables, healthy fats, with a minimal amount of refined sugars and processed foods are best for slimming down all over which will include your arms. While diet and exercise does help some people slim down and say goodbye to their bat wings, these natural methods don’t always work. Sometimes, plastic surgery may be necessary to get rid of them for good.

Everything doesn’t have to be perfect for you to start exercising and eating healthy. Just do what you can and learn along the way. You don’t have to have a eating plan today to start eating better. You don’t have to have a personal trainer to start walking, running or put on a exercise video. JUST DO IT
