What happens when 115 people come together… each with a drum, an open heart, and a willingness to play?
Magic.
After more than 30 years of therapeutic practice and facilitating interactive rhythm experiences around the world, I’m so excited to bring Living in Rhythm to active adult communities.
Watching the residents of laugh, connect, create music together, and leave with huge smiles reminded me that rhythm is so much more than music.
It’s connection.
It’s vitality.
It’s belonging.
It’s the simple joy of discovering that we’re all part of something bigger than ourselves.
A heartfelt thank you to Joanna Alexander and the wonderful residents of Valencia Reserve for embracing this experience with such enthusiasm.
If you’d like to bring Living in Rhythm to your community or country club, I’d love to connect

What does “home” feel like to you?
Not the place…
The feeling.
The place where your nervous system softens.
Where you can exhale.
Where you don’t have to perform.
Where the tender parts of you are welcomed with kindness.
This Cancer New Moon, we’ll gather together to explore the archetype of Cancer—a symbol of belonging, emotional safety, and the lifelong journey of creating a home within ourselves.
Through story, creativity, reflection, and conversation, we’ll explore how healthy boundaries aren’t walls that keep others out, but loving containers that protect what is soft, precious, and true within us.

What if we began to see our lives as rhythmic?
What if we learned to respect our own unique cadence and pace, noticing the patterns that repeat themselves throughout our lives?
The rhythms of nature remind us that life moves in cycles. They aren’t restrictive—they provide a framework within which life can flourish.
Perhaps it’s the same for us.
When we tune into our own natural rhythm, we stop trying to keep pace with everyone else. Instead, we begin to move in a way that feels authentic to who we are.
And from that place, something beautiful happens…
We become better able to harmonize with the rhythms of the people around us, creating greater connection, balance, and belonging.
What rhythm are you living by today?

Every Monday, something arrives before the emails, the meetings, and the to-do list.
That something is you.
Before the rhythm of the week takes over, we have an opportunity to orient to our own inner rhythm—to notice what we truly need before responding to what the world asks of us.
One word can become an anchor for the day
Mine: Presence.
Yours?

On my walk I found this little heart-shaped stone… that reminded me that all of life has its own rhythm…
We tend to think of rhythm as something musical.
But rhythm pulses through every aspect of our lives.
It begins with the beating of our hearts.
Our breath has a rhythm.
The seasons have a rhythm.
The ocean has a rhythm.
Our lives have a rhythm too.
Sometimes we find ourselves in sync with it.
Sometimes we’re rushing the tempo, living just ahead of our own natural pace.
Perhaps part of our work is to discover our own rhythm…
To respect it.
To trust it.
And to understand how our unique rhythm fits with everyone else’s—creating the beautiful mosaic of our shared humanity.
Take a moment to notice…
-The rhythm of your mornings.
-The rhythm of your relationships.
-The rhythm of how you work, rest, create and connect.
Some rhythms nourish us.
Others quietly exhaust us.
I’d love to hear from you…
What rhythm in your life is serving you right now?
And what rhythm might be asking for your attention?

Sometimes life surprises you.
You think you’re creating something new, only to realize you’ve actually been walking towards it for years. This has been a consistent experience as my work continues to unfold.
I’ve been feeling really excited about a new offering I’m calling Living in Rhythm.
The more I work on it, the more I realize it isn’t really new at all.
It brings together so many parts of my life that I’ve loved for years—my work as a therapist, my years in hospice, three decades facilitating rhythm experiences all over the world, my fascination with creativity, community, and what helps us truly come alive.
Next week I’ll be facilitating the very first Living in Rhythm experience in a 55+ community in Florida, and I couldn’t be more excited.
As human beings at every stage of life we need:
To connect.
To learn.
To laugh.
To create.
To belong.
As I build this new chapter, I’d love to bring you along for the journey.
It feels vulnerable sharing something at the very beginning instead of waiting until it’s all polished… but maybe that’s the point.
Here’s to living consciously.
Here’s to living creatively.
Here’s to Living in Rhythm.
What role do creativity and connection play in your well-being?
What does it mean to be human? How can we honor and respect our vulnerability and our feelings along with our need for human connection. What are you doing on this strawberry full moon to honor your own true nature?
Most people think the new moon is about setting intentions. I see it differently. I think it’s an invitation to ask: Who am I below the obvious? Every month in Moon Calendar Conversations, we use mythology, depth psychology, and creativity to explore that question together
