Jolei Amor - The transition to 6th grade was an adjustment, but through focus, hard work and determination, she made it! She finished strong with all A & Bs....We are so proud of her! 7th grade her she comes!!

We celebrate Xiyao Gu's accomplishments:

Xiyao won the 2023 Douglas County Math Competition 7th grade individual 1st place.

Xiyao participated in the 2023 Mathcounts West Georgia Chapter (regional) Competition and won 1st place in the final countdown round.

Xiyao was awarded a scholarship by Douglas County School System for an international trip to Portugal and Spain for 12 days in February 2023.

Emma Staudigl is a Sophomore Honors Student at Bowdon High School in Bowdon, GA. She holds a 4.24 GPA and is a member of the National Honor Society in English, Art, and Spanish. Additionally, she plays flute in the Concert Band and is the sole member of the School’s swim team where she placed 8th in the 100 yard Backstroke at the GHSA 1A State Championship in February of this year.

In March of 2020 - just prior to Covid, Emma transferred to DCS and has since found her ‘home' here with the Team! She has made lots of good friends and learned how to be a good teammate and a better competitive swimmer. She is a hard worker who is committed to ‘Go the Distance’ by always giving her best and never giving up!

Outside of School and Swim, Emma serves as Co-Captain (3rd year) of Swim Across America’s Team DCS - a non-profit organization that helps raise funding for Childhood Cancer Research grants at AFLAC Cancer & Blood Disorders Center at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta (CHOA) - and was honored to have been selected (2nd year) to serve on SAA’s Junior Advisory Board. Beginning at the age of 10, Emma has participated with S.A.A. (Atlanta) each year since 2017 and has individually raised over $10,273, helping to lead both recruiting and fundraising efforts while encouraging others who want to make a difference to join her in swimming in the Open Water Event at Lake Lanier’s Olympic Park - held this year on Saturday, September 23, 2023. Emma is committed to representing both her School and the Community in this effort to the best of her ability while continuing to fulfill her call in ‘making waves to fight cancer’.

Justin just finished his first year of flight school @ Centennial Aviation Academy

Alex is an 11th grader at Alexander High School, (AHS) who always strives to do and give his best. He is very involved at his school. Alex is a member of the AHS Beta Club who currently serves as the president of the volunteer committee. He is also a member of the JROTC Club and oversees logistics as the S4 on Battalion Staff. He also competes in Raiders for JROTC in which they got 2nd place at State this year. He also swims and plays tennis for Alexander High School. Furthermore, he is very dedicated to his studies. Alex has finished another school year with academic excellence and received Army Excellence award. Lastly, Alex inspires to be an officer in the Air Force, specializing in Cybersecurity.

We especially love watching Alex cheer on his sister in the pool!

Susana is a 7th grader at FairPlay Middle School (FMS) who always strives to do her best and help others. She is very involved at her school. Susana is apart of the FMS Ambassador where she currently serves as an outreach coordinator. She is also a member of the Junior Beta Club, Math Team and very dedicated to her studies. Susana has finished another school year with all A’s and received the Math award. In addition to this, Susana was invited this year to interview for West Metro Language Forum and was awarded Superior for Spanish. She has also been recommended for the International Baccalaureate program when she graduates FMS. Lastly, Susana inspires to be in the Medical field.

We want to acknowledge how great our team is in and out of the pool!! First, we celebrate Eduardo Lozano! Way to go Eduardo!!!
