This Memorial Day, we pause in prayer and gratitude for the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. As Catholics, we honor their sacrifice with thankful hearts, remembering the words of Christ: “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” — John 15:13
May God grant eternal rest to the fallen, comfort to their families, and peace to our nation. Let us never forget the courage, faith, and selfless love shown by those who served. 🇺🇸✝️
Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them.

Some people leave a lasting impact far beyond the years they served in our halls.
As we celebrate D’Marley Elliott and his next chapter at Columbus State University, we are reminded of two very special people who helped shape his journey along the way.
Displayed beside D’Marley at his signing are photos with our late principal, Dr. Julie Broom, and beloved PE coach, Jeanne Batten — two educators who poured so much love, encouragement, and guidance into the lives of their students. Their influence reached far beyond the classroom and gym, helping students grow in confidence, character, and faith.
The presence of these photos made this moment even more meaningful and serves as a beautiful reminder that the people who believe in our students leave a lasting imprint on their lives.
We are incredibly proud of you, D’Marley, and grateful for the many people who helped support and inspire the young man you have become. Your Crusader family will always be cheering you on.

Happy Mother’s Day to all mothers & grandmother in the league.
Today we thank God for the gift of motherhood — for the women who nurture with love, lead with faith, and reflect the gentle strength of Mary, our Blessed Mother. Your sacrifices, prayers, and devotion shape hearts and guide families closer to Christ each day.
May God bless you abundantly for the love you give so selflessly, and may Our Lady continue to watch over and inspire you in your vocation of motherhood.
From the CMS Staff.

Holy Spirit Teams won Northside YMCA League Championships in 1970, 1971 and 1972.
The program was started in 1967 by the Recreation Director Gary Puckett, who was previously the Athletic Director at Christ the King School. An Irish priest by the name of Father Michael Woods, who was based at Holy Spirit, helped out with the program in 1967.
