Making my parents basement home for myself and my two daughters after leaving an abusive marriage. Critiques?
Iβm staying in my parents basement with my girls until I finish school. I plan on changing the rugs in the living room and my 4yoβs room, as well as changing the couch, swapping the square couch thing for a coffee table, and sanding the top of the small pink table and giving it a new coat of paint. Are there any other updates I could do to make this space as cozy as possible?

My daughter asked for a darker, more mature room for her 10th birthday. She wanted for dark academia/cottagecore as a theme so this is what I came up with.
Last pic is before when we started clearing out her room vs after.

Some after/before pics of my lil' house
I can't get them to go in the right order but you get the idea.
Common questions: It's not real stained glass, it's a vinyl transfer from Etsy.
The fireplace is not painted, it's the original cast iron.
Living room walls are painted with Farrow and Ball Off Black
Kitchen wall is Lick Green 20
Bathoom wall is B&Q Pine Needle

My sanctuary πMy favorite part of my home!
I was somehow lucky enough to find a rental with a greenhouse! It's a lean-to connected to the house. The ivy and wisteria on the ceiling are fake, everything else is real.
