The Fittest Me: REAL Fitness is Restorative, Empowering, Authentic, and Loving

Restore your Heart, Body, and Mind to Wholeness and fall in Love with Yourself ♥️

Being afraid of strength training tends to come in 3 forms:
1. the fear that we’ll PHYSICALLY hurt ourselves—with poor form or in “lifting too much”
2. the fear of HOW we’ll feel AFTER the workout—that the delayed soreness will prevent us from living our normal lives
3. the fear that gaining muscle will make us BULKY or MASCULINE

Here’s how to PREVENT these fears from coming true:

If you’re afraid you’ll get hurt, do THIS:
- KNOW that your muscles have built-in checks and balance systems that PREVENT OVEREXTENDING and INJURY: specifically, the muscle spindles and golgi tendon organs work together to keep you safe
- REMEMBER that it’s your responsibility to LISTEN to your body, and STOP if something doesn’t feel right
- Know that with CORRECT FORM, hurting yourself is nearly impossible

If you’re afraid of being SORE, do this:
- Start SLOWLY … begin with 3x/week, using weights that you are confident lifting
- OBSERVE how you feel both IN the workout, and AFTERWARDS in the next 1-2 days
- KNOW that being sore is NORMAL and reflects the muscle tissue break down/regeneration process
- HANDLE it by MOVING your body [walk/stretch/mobility]

If your fear is bulk or looking masculine:
- Know that muscle is largest immediately after weight lifting because of the INCREASE in blood flow
- Remember that muscles RELAX and are smoother/smaller/feminine the rest of your day
- Understand that having muscle will actually make you MORE FEMININE because it’s what gives you a smooth/round figure where the CURVES are in all the right places

As long as you…
- listen to your body
- progress at a pace that keeps you feeling in control
- monitor how you feel about your physique as you go

… you will stay SAFE & achieve your goals 💪🏼🩷🙏🏼

Love ♥️
