Starting next month, you can help bring balance and strengthen your body as well as your mind by practicing Tai Chi, right here in Milton.

The City's program partners from Wellesong are back at Milton City Park and Preserve, starting October 7 and running through November 25. In an effective and soothing manner, their expert instructors will guide participants through the class aimed at beginners (running from 9-10 a.m. on those Mondays) or for those more experienced in the martial art known as "meditation in motion" (running from 10:15-11:15 a.m. on those same days). Both sessions are open to anyone age 18 and over.

To sign-up, go to www.miltonga.gov/Registration and click on the "Fitness" tab. From there, find Wellesong Tai Chi and select the option that works best for you.

Get some extra spring in your step this spring – not to mention improved flexibility, strength, and balance – by taking part in Milton’s Tai Chi program.

The next session starts this coming Monday morning (March 18) at Milton City Park and Preserve’s Community Center (1785 Dinsmore Road). Participants age 18-and-up have two options – a “Beginners” class from 9 to 10 a.m., or an “Advanced Beginners/Experienced” class from 10:15 to 11:15 a.m. – depending on their past experience with the ancient martial art form sometimes referred to as meditation in motion.

Whether you’ve been doing it for decades or this is your first time, Tai Chi has many benefits for your physical and mental health. And there are few better guides than the City’s partners at Wellesong, which will lead this six-week session through April 22.

We love our Milton classes!! The City of Milton provides outstanding support for wellness in mind, body, and spirit for the whole community!

Looking for ways to improve your physical and mental health, reduce stress and anxiety, or just to start something new? Then you may need to look no further than Milton's Tai Chi program, which resumes later this month.

Tai Chi is an ancient form of exercise that combines gentle meditative movements with deep rhythmic breathing. Practicing slow, graceful dance-like movements may seem easy, but it takes a great deal of concentration and balance. Doing it, in turn, can calm the mind, relax tensed muscles, and ensure that energy flows in the desired direction. And qualified, caring Wellesong instructors will help make sure you do it right.

There are two Monday morning options, starting May 15: Foundations (Part I) for complete beginners from 9 to 10 am, and Advanced Beginners for those who want to take their skills to the next level from 10:15 to 11:15 a.m. Classes will take place under the cover of Broadwell Pavilion.

To sign-up, please visit www.miltonga.gov/Registration, then click the "Tai Chi" tab.

Always fun to “play Tai Chi” with our Milton friends! Come join us for the new session starting March 20th!

Whether it’s a blustery March day or a perfectly comfortable spring afternoon, Milton City Park and Preserve will be the place to be for those wishing to practice “meditation in motion” – as Tai Chi is often called.

The City’s Tai Chi program, run by our partners at Wellesong, returns on March 20 for its next 6-class session. The Foundations II course is ideal for those with some prior Tai Chi experience and interest in getting exercise while gaining flexibility, balance, and energy through the fluid Sun-style form.

The location is another part of the draw, since participants could do Tai Chi inside the property’s climate-controlled Community Center or outside overlooking its beautiful greenspace.

Join us at the beautiful Milton Community Center, beginning next Monday, and let’s start 2023 with better balance, strength, and energy!

Kick off the new year in balance – not to mention stronger and more flexible – by learning and practicing Tai Chi.

You can do so starting January 9 through the City of Milton’s Tai Chi program, led by ace instructors at Wellesong. Tai Chi offers both controlled movement and relaxation, which is why it’s often described as “meditation in motion.” And the Milton class also offers a beautiful setting in the new Community Center at Milton City Park and Preserve, which windows overlooking the park’s trail and greenspace.

Classes will run every Monday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. through the end of February (except for City holidays on Jan. 16 and Feb. 20.). To sign-up, go to www.miltonga.gov/Registration and click the “Tai Chi” tab.

As the weather cools, you can warm up your mind, body, and spirit …. through tai chi.

The martial art known as “meditation in motion” is now at Milton’s new Community Center – part of Milton City Park and Preserve (1785 Dinsmore Road). And time is running out to sign-up for the next two sets of sessions, which start on October 31 and run through December 12.

Instructors from the City’s partners at Wellesong will lead two offerings on Monday mornings.
• BEGINNERS/FOUNDATIONS (9-10 a.m.), which is appropriate for anyone – including those trying out tai chi for the first time
• INTERMEDIATE TAI CHI (10:15-11:15 a.m.), which is a good fit for those who have experience in tai chi and/or have taken the beginners’ class

To participate, go to www.miltonga.gov/Registration and click the “Tai Chi” tab. Each 6-week session only costs $90 for Milton residents.

This fall, people can practice “meditation in motion” – as tai chi is often described – at Milton’s new Community Center.

Instructors from Wellesong, the City’s program partner, will offer two sets of classes for adults between September 12 through October 24. The “beginner” class will run from 9 to 10 a.m., while the session for “Advanced Beginners” (in the Yang Style 24 Form) will be from 10:15 to 11:15 a.m. The whole 6-session class costs $90 for residents and $135 for non-residents.

According to the Mayo Clinic, tai chi can help lessen stress, anxiety, and depression; boost energy and stamina; improve flexibility, muscle strength, and balance – and much more. And what better place to learn and practice it than the recently renovated Community Center, with windows overlooking the nature trail at Milton City Park and Preserve (1785 Dinsmore Road).

To sign-up, go to www.miltonga.gov/Registration, and click on the Tai Chi tab.
