Atlanta Triathlon Club's Paratriathlon Program's goal is to become THE resource for learning, training, racing & all things paratri.

ATC is excited to be leading the way with our paratriathlon training program managed by Brad Smith. We are proud to have one of the only triathlon training programs in the country where able-bodied athletes and paratriathletes train side by side. Weekly training sessions include swimming year round (open water in the summer), indoor cycling classes, outdoor rides and running (track and road). As a

On 5/29/23 Lindu Lu passed and will be missed. Linda was part of our ParaTri Program and participated in our OWS. If you had the privilege of meeting her you were touched and inspired by her. She will be sorely missed by ATC! Here is a post from her sister:

My little sister Linda passed away last night and joined our father in heaven. She passed at exactly 8pm, which is the luckiest Chinese number. She was only 33 but the Linda’s Shenanigans Netflix series would be 100 seasons long.
Megan and I were able to hold her hands and noticed how peaceful and beautiful she looked in her final moments.
We were surrounded over the past week with her best friends. They came from near and far. Anna was only 15 minutes away. Tonya, Sarah Beth, and Sarah Becca about an hour away. Melissa flew from Orlando. Alan and his wife Nydia drove with their kids 8 hours. Lydia flew down from the UP of Michigan. Jess travelled by bus, boat and plane from the remotest part of the Philippines. Sarah, Anna and Lydia slept at her side and made sure someone was with her at all times. We filled the room. There was almost always at least one person who politely said they needed to stretch their legs and stand a little.
We laughed. We cried. We laughed and cried simultaneously at times. We wallpapered her room with photos. We shared old stories, pictures and videos. We talked to her, we sang to her, we played her favorite songs, shows, and movies for her. We ordered her favorite foods and ate at the food of her bed, standing, or sitting on the floor of her room.
We (everyone except me) detangled and washed her matted her. Sarah did her eyebrows, and they looked perfect. Tonya and Sarah snuck her cat Pita into the hospital to say goodbye.
When we transitioned to her hospice room, we unpacked and repacked into 3 different rooms until we found the right one for her.
In the end, we needed Megan’s faith and strength to help us know when it was Linda’s time. She helped us all recognize Linda was ready. She also arranged an emergency baptism and somehow I took part in the baptism ceremony and am now both her brother and godfather.
I feel so blessed to have Linda in my life. One day we’ll be together again. Until then, I’ll love her. I’ll miss her. I’ll look for signs of her in the world as I navigate forward. I’ll make sure Judy, Max, and Frank remember their Aunt Linda too.

What an amazing and inspiring event put on by The Shepherd Center Recreational Therapy and Atlanta Triathlon Club this past weekend!

The athletes were TRIing for the very first time with adaptive equipment, but you would have thought they were veterans of the sport. The smiles in the pictures and crossing that finish line says it all!

We are so proud of ALL the athletes for doing something outside of their comfort zones and challenging themselves. That takes courage, and you had an abundance of it this past weekend.

This could not have been pulled off without the help of all of our volunteers that made this possible. Because of you, you made this a very special weekend.

If you are interested in learning more on how you can get involved with the ATC-Paratriathlon Program as an athlete or volunteer, please reach out to us at [email protected]. We have several events throughout the year and we welcome you to be a part in 2023!

It was a great day at Red Top Mountain for the ParaTri Clinic and seeing some new faces. It was awesome to see our athletes challenge themselves, finish with a smile and talk about what they want to do next.

As usual our support crew on the water was superb keeping our athletes safe and comfortable.

If interested in learning more about Atlanta Tri Club and the ParaTri Program, please send an email to [email protected] and we will answer all your questions.

Thank you Brandy Garland @ BG Photography for the photos!
