Lady Coalcrackers 14U Sweigert 14U Win In Fashion, Walk It Off Versus Wicked Insanity 14U

It came down to the wire on Sunday, as Lady Coalcrackers 14U Sweigert 14U grabbed the victory in walk-off fashion, 9-8, over Wicked Insanity 14U. Lady Coalcrackers 14U Sweigert 14U were down 8-7 in the bottom of the sixth inning when Elise Gretsky doubled, scoring two runs.
Lady Coalcrackers 14U Sweigert 14U rallied for the victory despite trailing 8-2 in the fourth.
Wicked Insanity 14U got on the board in the top of the first inning after Kaelyn Woodling hit a sacrifice fly, Aubrey Lepley singled down the right field line, Masi Hess singled to the right side of the infield, Maura Thompson doubled to center field, and Caitie Steppe singled to center field, each scoring one run.
Wicked Insanity 14U added two runs in the second. Payton Pennycoff singled to center field, making the score 7-2.
Lady Coalcrackers 14U Sweigert 14U flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the sixth, scoring seven runs on three hits to take the lead, 9-8. The biggest blow in the inning was a double by Mallory Leblanc that drove in two.
Ava Sweigert began the game for Lady Coalcrackers 14U Sweigert 14U. The starter allowed 13 hits and eight runs (seven earned) over six innings, striking out four and walking three. Annabelle Fry stepped in the circle first for Wicked Insanity 14U. The hurler allowed seven hits and nine runs (four earned) over five and two-thirds innings, striking out five and walking five.
Danica Snyder and Mallory Leblanc each collected two hits for Lady Coalcrackers 14U Sweigert 14U. Elise Gretsky and Mallory Leblanc were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in two runs for Lady Coalcrackers 14U Sweigert 14U. Aubrey Oswald paced Lady Coalcrackers 14U Sweigert 14U with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, collecting five walks for the game.
Wicked Insanity 14U accumulated 13 hits in the game. Payton Pennycoff drove the middle of the lineup, leading Wicked Insanity 14U with two runs batted in. The cleanup hitter went 2-for-3 on the day. Payton Pennycoff, Caitlin McDermott, Caitie Steppe, and Maura Thompson each collected two hits for Wicked Insanity 14U.
